OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 227 and 228

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I also got a call on Sunday. My SR was good but he also said that many of them aren't doing so well with keeping quiet and that they like to talk after lights out. Hopefully they start learning soon... I know I would be really irritated.

Has anyone received a call tonight?! I saw people were getting calls tonight.. My SR also mentioned on Sunday they might be able to call on Tuesday.. Well it's Tuesday and I'm patiently waiting on a call..Well sitting here staring at my phone waiting for it to suddenly start ringing lol!

My son is in 227. I just found this page. I have gotten many letters and phone calls. He sounded great.

Great to meet you. My son will be going to A school down in Pensacola for AE. My son said he will be in the best shape because of ones getting the division in so much trouble. LOL  He passed everything  to become a sailor and is now training and helping the ones that have not passed areas that they needed help in.

My husband is in 227! He is also going to Pensacola but he is IT. I am hearing that this division is getting in a lot of trouble. I really hope they all start to get it together quick! Only 23 days till PIR!

So is 228! Did your son happen to tell you why?! My fiancé left out the reasoning and I was curious! Lol

Div 227 is as well. My husband said he wasn't sure why they are moving.

Hmm, maybe that's why then.. Yes I've heard plenty about the talking issues, my fiancé was starting to get SUPER annoyed.. As would I.. Hopefully it all gets worked out soon!

They do routine ship maintenance on an ongoing basis....and that is usually the reason for a division to change ships.

Please let me know when they have changed ships so I can change the title of the discussion.

They changed ships as of July 5th!
Hello everyone! My son is in 227. It's nice to hear someone talk about that div. has anyone received their "I'm a Sailor" call yet?
