lisarobin>  You have to set it up on the calendar to the right of this page so it appears as an event.  It will be on Thurs night, 8/4, 6-8 pm for this group.  The Ramada does everything else.

Just click on Aug 4 on the calendar.  Here is the info to put in:

PIR 8/5/11 MeetNGreet

6-8 pm  Ramada Waukegan

200 N. Green Bay Rd

847-244-2400

All family members(including children) and friends of sailors in PIR 8/5/11 are welcome!

Just some info....it is free, includes some appetizers and a cash bar.  You can bring your own drinks if you like.  For anyone staying at the Ramada, you get 2 free drink tickets.  Also, other families will be there who are not part of Navy for Moms, so be ready to share with them about this site!

I have a question for you veteran's. Does Ramada Inn set up the Meet and Greet on the Event page and then we RSVP? I have been confused about that. And what day is it on? The Thursday before Graduation?

ALL of you ladies you are more than welcome and diannep, thank you for your kind words...you don't know how much you just made my day...thank you. It is 5:50 PM and my day is not over. Have to take one to youth group and do some shopping and "fill the gaps" with stuff cuz it's to much to drive home. So I'll bring my mini laptop and hope to catch up with you all!

For any of you needing a larger suite---2 bdrm 2 bth, full kitchen----call NOW and book one at Residence Inn Waukegan.  In every PIR group, people wait too late and they are sold out.  I believe they have a certain amount of rooms for the Navy rate.  They have studio suites too, so not sure if the Navy rate applies to the larger suites or just the studios.  We used AAA rate when we stayed there.  You can cancel up until either 24 hrs before or the day of arrival if need be, from what I remember.

We are planning on going on Thursday and staying until Sunday too.  I booked our room today. It really does matter that you call the hotel and ask for the Navy Graduation Rate. I looked at my hotel online and the best rate was $30 higher than what the man on the phone told me he would give more for the Navy rate! I was so happy that is $100 with tax! That pays for one of the days just about!

My son's dad and step mom are returning on Saturday, but I've made my reservation through Sunday just in case!  I wouldn't want to miss a minute with my son!!  Of course, he may be sick of me by then...  :o)

Diannep - Thanks for your input; appreciate the feedback.

onboard:  That would be great.  We suggest that all not book home before Sunday in case sailor has the whole weekend.  Remember, even if they tell you they are flying out on Sat., plans can change.  If they do indeed fly out on Sat., you can always do some sightseeing!
