N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi All! I just got the phone call- it was brief- bout 5 mins and I hadta fight for that lol! She sounds good and says she likes it and is making friends:)She is in ship 9 div 244. Her only complaint was about all the shots she hadta get and that they hadta draw her blood twice cause she jumped the first time(she has a bit of a needle phobia)! Guess it should b smooth sailing for her now with that out of the way- lol!

Thankyou Stephanie! I just a emotional roller coaster of feelings. He seemed sad when he talked with us...maybe homesick.  But he said he liked it.  I cried all morning after talking with him

These stories about missing the xbox noise and the clutter...oh, yes! When I got my son's form letter yesterday I carried it around with me all day so I could hold on to something he touched. When my husband/then fiancé went to boot camp, I wore his high school football jacket so I could "feel" him with me. I was 32 years old so it looked kind of ridiculous but I didn't care. I still have that jacket just for the comfort it gave me. We are all lucky to have such love in our lives, even if it is from a distance.

nancyjane - so excited for you that you got your call.  i think the next time you will get a call is after they do Battlestation 21.  So it will be letters for all of us until then.  i am so glad that he likes what he is doing.

Hi all,  we just made our reservations for the weekend.  Makes it seem real now.  I love all these little steps along the way.  They help make the time go faster.

Got the letter yesterday - I think I said that, but I forgot to include Ship 9, Div 243... Where do I go to see the names of the Ships?

My son just called!!!  It was only 15 minutes..but it was so good to hear his voice. He sounded ok, but we could tell he was very emotional. Will this be our only phone call?  He's hanging there, sounded home sick.  But says he likes it
