That's why I'm here, I need to be here. I think some in our division did get letters and that's why I think it's been hard. Unless I've read it wrong but again, I'm happy for those moms, it's a great thing. I just miss him so much as I know you all miss your children. I'm anxious everyday because I know the 3 week mark is coming where they may call. I know every part of my building where I work where there is a weak signal and I run through them to make sure that is not the moment he calls....lol. I'm nuts! If I get a voicemail or a missed call from him, I may lose it for sure. I know it gets easier and I guess when people say that it means it gets easier after the first letter unless it's just not getting easier for me. I'll be ok, I just worry and overthink, always been my problem.
Sharbear~ I wish there was something I could do about your situation. I feel bad that you are sad, for this reason. I'm not so sure the fault lies with your SR. Also, you received the box. Why would the form letter be sent to wrong address? And btw, no one in 288 has received a real letter yet. Please please please don't be so devastated. You're not sure what happened. There have been other moms that never received their form letter. This is not unheard of. Please find a reason to smile. And please don't stay away from this site :)
Another day another day of no form letter or letter. I was told to stay off this site because it was depressing me to see everyone get letters but in all honesty I am genuinely happy that you are. I find joy in you getting your letters and knowing that feeling is coming my way is what keeps me going. 2 days will be 3 weeks since he left and I can't believe I haven't even gotten the form letter even after the recruiter got it straightened out due to an address error. Sometimes I just don't think he is just not going to write. We have a very close bond so it's just hard thinking he may not. I know he knows I would worry but he can be stubborn and I know he doesn't like to write letters. I think I've been pretty patient but every day it gets harder and harder to see nothing in the mailbox. I don't know, all I do know is, I'm sad and it sucks. I hope he's ok and not so pissed about being there that he chooses not to write. These are all the types of things going on in my head. Anyway, thanks for reading.
Thanks Diannep! I think I will close it out tomorrow night after work, give everyone a day to post!
Just to clarify....newnavywife's post is a discussion in the Forum above, so check it out!
Just a reminder that we have a Facebook page for friends and family of ship 12 Div 285/286 for added support. Please join us but stay here also- just another way to connect.https://www.facebook.com/groups/327142450710806/
If you guys have time please respond to my post above...letters to SRs needing a confidence boost, thank you!!
The lowest-numbered divisions in this group should be in Training Week 2 this week. Others should be starting it today or tomorrow if not in it yet.
Remember, there is a difference between "Training Weeks and "Bootcamp Weeks". Bootcamp Weeks have processing days first and those are not a "set" number. They can vary. Then after Training Weeks, they will have a few days before PIR.
Divisions will finish training from 8-9 days before PIR up to just a couple of days before PIR. Again, the lower-numbered divisions will be finished first.
sharbear: Your SR is the one who wrote in the password in the form letter so ask your SR in a letter or when you get a call!
