Thank you Diane!!  That was my biggest worry.  I would be devisted if I missed the call.  We have a wedding Sat Aug 4th way up in the mountains of Lake Placid and worried I wouldnt hear phone or no reception.  So technically if he arrived on 7-11, it would be 2 1/2 weeks into boot camp.  Hope I'm safe!!

MOMOF2BOYS:  In addition to Angie's info, some of the larger PIR groups start BattleStations a day or two earlier than the smaller groups sometimes,  In that case, the I'm a Sailor calls can even come more than a week before PIR.  Your SR will know (down the road...too early now) his/her division's BattleStations date.  It is an overnight drill and they get to call the next afternoon--some may miss their call if they have "watch"--but should call later or the next day.  That will be a great call!

And, if and when they can make any calls is always up to the RDCs in their division.  They can have a call scheduled (even write that date to you) and lose it.  Maybe the whole division lost it over something, maybe a few individuals lost theirs....all up to the RDCs.  Long way of saying...calls are very random so keep that phone with you, even if in the bathroom or checking your mailbox for letters!  Believe it or not, ladies have missed their SRs' calls doing both of these things.  Very sad....

Can anyone tell me aound a bout day that we will be getting our "Im a Sailor!!" call?  If I'm not mistaken, that will be our only call til graduation right?

Continuing prayers, Lala...

sharbear:  Yes, bootcamp is the name of the "entire experience."  It is broken down within that time into processing days, training weeks, more "freed up" days after BattleStations before PIR.  Of course, the training weeks are the most important and where your SRs will be tested!

Good Morning everyone. For everyone who has been praying for my Sailor thank you so much. I can't even begin to tell you how much we appreciate that. She seems to be feeling a little better but had to have a CAT scan yesterday. We will hopefully hear good news from that today and maybe by Monday she will be able to go from SIQ to LLD. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Thanks so so much, Lora (aka lala)

Craig...I am going to "pull" these posts and put them up in the Discussion Forum one :-)

Ohhh, you would ask me that! LOL

I actually think it is "900 Division". I can't find anything else but that...stand by.
