Tues 9/2:  only 9 days left people!  I have a new basket for New Hampshire, so we are over 30 baskets, remember if you didn't sign up for a basket, you can always bring a little goody that we can add to another basket or just try to win your favorite to take back home, can't wait to meet everyone!  Stay safe the next week and a half and see you all at Sarge's Meet and Greet!

Thurs 8/28:  14 days until PIR, 30 Baskets will be on the table, great job PIR 9/12 !

Sunday 8/24 Update:

Here we go ladies and gentlemen!  These are the baskets that I know of so far, Wisconsin, Oregon, Ny, NJ, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Idaho, Minnesota, Michigan, California, S Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Chicago, IL, Arizona, Western PA, Colorado, we also have a beautiful sculpture, Little Red's BBQ basket, Travel Snacks, the TShirt donation as well as 6 challenge coins, One per ship in our division.  That puts us at 28 different items to bid on.  Amazing guys!

Friday 8/22 update.

Sarge does not have baskets, but in talking to another mom, we thought gift bags/dollar store ones, we can lay them out and put the contents on top so people can see what is in them, maybe a flag that tells what state and they are from, and then the winner can put everything back in the bag and not have to deal with a basket.  Of course, if you have other ideas - feel free to share!

Thanks everyone, this will be a fun evening, at this time in 3 weeks, we will have a "boat Load" of baskets !  Awesome!

  HappyWednesday everyone!   UPDATE 8.20.14

OK Folks, here is my news!!!!  #1 we have 20 baskets so far, I am going to see if Sarge has extra baskets we can use as I imagine people who are flying tend to leave them there, or we can use Dollar store gift bags, boxes etc.
#2 !!!! Sarge has graciously offered to provide us one  challenge coin for each ship at the Meet and Greet!  This is very exciting, these are very meaningful for our Sailors and have a long history in the military.   You can check out their history at where there is a short video when you click on any of the Ships' Coins.
My son was given one at HS Graduation by an Airman that introduced any military Grads and when he visited his recruiter, they were jealous because none of them had one. So this is very exciting!
I will post the baskets we have in progress, if anyone wants to assist anyone, just friend them and make it happen.  Great job everyone!!!

Just wondering what this basket idea is all about? Also the meet and Greet?

If you click on the Events link at the top of the main page, you will see an event, Sarge's Meet and Greet 9/12/14, Sarge and his wife provide a meal and education on the best way to navigate the Base for PIR the next day.  We are putting together a basket raffle with the proceeds going back to Sarge so he can continue to provide this service for families of future PIR dates.  I understand he has been doing this for a while.  Click on the link and sign up to go and then add the number attending in the comment field so he can make the arrangements.  I volunteered to assist with the baskets, so let me know if I can help in any way.  MY sailor is ship 09 div 281, PIR 9/12

Cute Kitty

We have 31 baskets people, that is awesome!  Anybody have any questions?  I am going to bring plastic wrap/bags if I can find them, or feel free to bring your own, I will have cards there so we can write what is in the basket and where they came from, or again, feel free to create your own at home.

Thanks everyone, I am sure this will be a success!

I own my own business and I would be happy to put a small basket of something together..I was going to do that for this weeks, but my son was rolled back..Is that ok, or are you looking for State only items?

That would be amazing PaTricia, are you on the facebook page?  There is a form in the files section that Sarge Created where you can list what is in your basket, we want to put one on the table and one in the basket, Sarge also wants your info so he can send thank you notes.  Sorry your son was rolled back, but this is an amazing group!  We will have a blast!  head to the FB page for PIR 9-12-14 if you haven't already and meet the gang!  See you in ONE WEEK !!!!!
