N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

PIR was AMAZING!!!!  The entire weekend was a roller coaster of emotions from sheer joy to awe!!  We stayed at the Courtyard Mariott.  When we checked in they let us know that they provided a shuttle service to PIR for only 3$ per person.  That saved us so much in terms of worrying about timing, getting through security etc.  Staff was very accomodating!  When they figured out the live feed was not working, the  hotel staff set up a scavenger hunt for my 7 grandchildren who were left behind and gave the parents a list of nearby attractions to kill time til we got our sailor back to the hotel!  The only thing I had anxiety over was noone seemed to be able to tell me WHERE to pick up my sailor who was shipped over to her A school after graduation. Everyone just kept saying follow the cars.  It was pure dumb luck we located the place! For future parents, just go to the visitors center by the Navy Museum. Your sailor will meet you there after he/she checks into A school.   Somehow, I missed that info. :-)   It was great to meet some of the moms I've seen on this website, and Chas mom... thanks for the great ribbon!!!  I will save that in my treasures box for sure!!!

So glad for all the great stuff that happened!!  Now I wonder what is going on the with live feed?  It was working fine before~~

Our room at the Navy Lodge was fantastic. It was large so we could all hang out and be comfortable. It was also very clean. We had a two room suite with a kitchenette. It was $99 a night and was very close to the RTC and everything we wanted to do. The staff was very friendly and they had a free breakfast. The selection for breakfast wasn't the best, but was ok. Would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful time we had with our Sailor and family!  Sarge was great! delivered my girl back to base safe and sound.  So glad we used Sarge to shuttle to PIR instead of driving!  Drove right past the long line of cars waiting to be let into the base.  Our stay at the Courtyard Marriott was stellar.  Staff went over and above to accommodate us! So glad that we flew into Milwaukee instead of Midway, so much closer, and no traffic getting to Waukegan.  Wouldn't change a thing!   Only bummer was the live feed evidently was a failure.  Will be calling to order the DVD for those family members that couldn't go to graduation.  What a positive experience!

Ladies, please post on here if any info we gave you was incorrect or changed.  We want to make sure to pass along accurate info to the next PIR groups.  Also, did you enjoy your hotel?  If so, please post on here about that.  Again, we like to recommend hotels that you all would recommend!

Hope all had a great time!

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your Sailors... An unforgettable experience for us all, just as CatMom said.  Almost an unexplainable feeling and mixture of emotions. It was just amazing and I cherish every moment I had with my son.  :)

What beautiful moment I am living in right now. Friday was spectacular. I'm up early (time change) waiting on my son's arrival. His dad will go get him .... and we'll have all day.

I am very grateful for this blessing and have all of you who need to say "see you soon," in my heart.
