Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

If anyone is traveling by air today from Div 369/370 and you may be in flight (phones off) when your new sailor calls...change your cell voicemail to greet your new sailor and ask that he/she leave as many messages as they like!  That would be a nice treat for you when you land!

Last calls for this PIR group expected this afternoon from the "sailors" of 369/370!

Safe Travel for those leaving today!

Good Morning All !

Ladies,

Remember that PIR is only the start of your Sailor's Navy journey!  Keep plugged in here at Navy for Moms to help your Sailor.  There are groups for A school, C school, ratings (jobs), state, regional, ships, bases, twins/multiples, and a Christian Chat one that I am a part of.  Blessings for your continued Navy adventures!!

I agree with Dannaproud and for all of those waiting anxiously today, your calls will come before you know it.  Our calls didn't start coming until almost 4:00 CT so if the phone isn't ringing right at 2:00, TRY not to worry too much!  :)  Once he called though, we were able to talk for almost an hour - he had to use 3 calling cards and it was SO amazing to finally hear his voice and the emotion behind all that they have accomplished together.  He said during the capping ceremony just about everyone had tears in their eyes (and my son is not usually a very emotional person)... Such a proud moment for them and for all of us well!

Congratulations to all who have gotten Sailor calls! For all those waiting, I know how hard it is. You wait and your nerves are shot and it's so intense. Then the phone rings and before you know it your hanging up thinking, "Wow!". Enjoy this time of Triumph! Before we know it we will be with them. Graduation is in 3 days. 3 DAYS!!! Yahoo!! Can't wait. Hope to see you all there!
