N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Has anyone from Ship 11 Div 365/366 heard from their SR yet either by Letter or Phone?

Anyone has a son/daugher on Ship 3 Div 368?  My son is with that group.

Comment by diannep on August 14, 2013 at 8:07am

Yes, SunshineSailor.   They are allowed the contacts and small bottle of solution, and makeup.  You need to ask your SR about it and make sure she says yes and is expecting the small package.  Label the outside with "contacts and makeup" but she will still have to open in front of the RDCs.  Not a problem...she will put them away until pictures/PIR.  But we always recommend not to send anything like that without the SR asking for it so they are expecting the package.

Good Morning All !

pmass5958, my son is also on Ship 13 Div 363.  I sent you a friend request.  Not sure if you received it  :)

pmass5958, my SR is in Ship 13 Div 364. When I talked to my son on Saturday, he did mention that Div 363 is his brother company. Meaning they do everything but sleep with that division. Have you heard from your son yet?

I have a question.  I seen where an SR is allowed contact lenses and minimal makeup for pics and graduation.  Is this a given or is it up to their div command?  I know my daughter would love to have these items and would like to send them but unsure if I should wait to ask her or just ship it. I don't want to get her into any trouble.  Thanks ahead for any advice.

NavyMom:  They have been leaving on Saturdays....for the most part.  On the RTC site, it will tell you that they will leave the day after PIR unless there is a problem getting flights.  If you can stay until Sunday, just in case, that would be good!  Or....at least later on Saturday afternoon/evening if you don't want to stay until Sunday.

Yes, in September, before graduation. You took the words right out of my mouth! Need to hear his voice, ask my questions, and know that things are going well for him. I'm sure our SR's are doing fine. We need to stay positive. The support on here is incredible. This is my lifeline to him right now!

I was totally shocked when they were delivered :) hopefully we will here from them this weekend. Its that initial call I just need to hear he sounds OK..if they got through these first few weeks and they are OK I will be more at ease the rest of the time. Your SR had a Sept birthday?
