Going to work out right after work - just know I will feel better after I sweat a bit!! :-)

liongirl - sorry, not my SR - I'm sure you'll find someone! Did you try to search N4M? Sometimes that helps too!

Hi Ladies,
Does anyone have a son, daughter or husband going to A school in San Diego after PIR. (SeaBee School)?
Comment by Jen - Ship10mom(Div340) on September 14, 2010 at 5:11pm
Native - sorry to hear that! We make the best of what we get though, right?! At least you know now - the time you have will be even more special!

khoov00 - awesome advice!! I am a huge natural food advocate and completely agree! Natrual yogurt is a change for some people, a little getting used to, but you can sweeten quite easily! smoothies are a great alternative meow! Thanks khoov00!!

Cameowlot - Try plain yogurt (make sure the label says live cultures) with chopped up fruit. If you need to sweeten it more add honey or apple juice concentrate (not the one with high fructose corn syrup). Or... I hate to eat breakfast so I do this same combo, but add a banana and put it in the blender to make a smoothie. I like tofu to add to soups or something I can hide it in (like tamales) but can't stand the idea of cooking it in something where tofu is the main ingredient. Yogurt is good for digestion and helps you absorb the nutritents from the fruit. Anything with coconut is also good for the digestion and pretty plain.

Hi Ladies. That's for all the great advise. Lydia, you are awesome to share your knowledge. I got a letter today dated Sept.09. My son will be shipping out for A school at 2am on 10/09. Looks like I only get a few hours with him. Bummer! I was looking forward to the three day weekend! Any others whose Sailors are going to Nuke school, be prepared for this early departure news. Stay strong! October 8th is fast approaching!

cameowlot - yes, the consensus is you need a brand new outfit!! :-)
NavyMomLG - don't beat yourself up!! Always plenty of stress, and we're not all doing as well as we'd like to either! It's OK!! Plus, the less you beat yourself up, the better you'll feel and the more you might feel like jumping back on that train! Go buy a new outfit for yourself too - what the heck?! :-) I think I'm gonna splurg too - maybe only one more time a son of mine will PIR!

So - new rule! No beating up of ourselves!! Discipline ourselves when can - be caring to ourselves and others, but no beat-up sessions! Like we don't have enough going on already! :-)
Comment by NavyMomLG on September 14, 2010 at 4:22pm
Cameowlot - sounds like you need a brand new outfit!!! Way to go on the exercise and weightloss. I am failing miserably - too much stress at work right now, but I do as much as I can.

I'm glad they are wearing their dress blues, but hope the temperature is cooler for them since they are wool. You just never know that time of year.
Comment by Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours) on September 14, 2010 at 3:54pm
cameowlot - for yall Ill bet it will be chilly cause the doors are open for the masses to come in and be seated. It was warm for us. I dont knw about Tide pens and dress blues - more likely a fabric roller thing as the blues are wool. Remember one thing - protect your feet cause you have a lot of walking to do! Remember Parking passes (several copies) Drivers license and car registration is you rent the rental papers are fine. Yall sound like you are getting organized! That is GREAT!
Comment by Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours) on September 14, 2010 at 3:46pm
jamielyn - they do switch to Dress blues - JessicaB - hellooooo can someone refresh my memory do they switch PIR colors in first October??? You will see all kinds of clothing from suites to jeans and t shirts to short and mini skirts!
Comment by HelenGJ on September 14, 2010 at 3:44pm
Jamielyn, They change to their dress blues the first of October and they back to dress whites in the spring. There are some pictures of division in their dress blues on the Face Book page for US Navy Recruit Training Command page.
