Ship10 - Awesome - I hope you get more here to get into this - you WILL NOT be sorry - even if you did nothing but make up the Cards for the tables. You dont have to decorate - The Ramada made the room lovely!.... Anyway - it will take one of you being sort of the organizer - but really very little effort..... We also all met up the next morning EARLY EARLY for coffee and we sort of followed each other and sat together at PIR - its was great. Okay enough said Ill leave yall and check back in another day! OH and if yall or the majority of yall do decide to participate someone needs to call the Ramada with a number for the food. What we did was put an RSVP on the site here and kept reminding each other to RSVP the our Navy wife called the Ramada like the week before. Okay - gone now!

Thanks Lydia - the placecards sound like a great Idea! I'm thinking 8x11 laminated sheets we can all sign in on maybe?! It's really awesome that we're getting to know so many from other div's too!
If noone else cares - I could put together some stuff for Ship 10 Div 340???? Send me a message if you would on this subject - thanks ladies!

Ship10mom -- What we did was of course hand out ribbons to each different division with a different color. one of our sailors wives made them - we got and the local grocery store red white and blue baloons and tied a set for each table. We also put place cards on each table with a Division so we could all find each other easily. Such as our table had a card that said Ship 4 - Div 818. It was sooo fun finding each other - and of course we mixed with others too! The food the Ramada provided was AMAZING - they really made it special Im telling you. The Ramada made the room really special! For the little that you put into this you will take home pictures and a life time of memories!

Helen - thank you - I totally get what you mean. I told him at least 1 letter a week - be sure! Now I'm going - what I nuts? ;-)
Lydia - thanks again for the info from you're experience - helps to have a mom that's a bit ahead of us to blaze a trail!

BTW Ladies - maybe I've missed it - can we decorate at the Ramada? Do we want to do this? Another can of worms? :-) I think we should all just have a pj party and see what they think of that?!?!:-) LOL come in our jammies, bring our pillows, sit on the floor - laugh, cry, whatever... just kidding, but it's quite comical to picture!! Do we want to put together a decorating committee - or do we think that all of us there will make the room sparkle and shine enough?! :-)

NavyWife & PKsMom - Thanks you guys! Just one of those days I guess - hopefully as you say, my heart'll start beating again tonight! :-) Any chance he got to test out for SpecOps & switched div's? He had SpecOps contract in July, but was in DEP for too long, would'nt let him stay in and he had to go back to AM. He'd be thrilled, and I'd be happy for him - they said it was a slight possibility he might get the opportunity in BC, otherwise would have to go in as AM and after 24-36 months, would be able to test again. Who knows - it's all just speculation on my end - you know how it goes, when you don't know for sure your mind goes 90 miles an hour. If I could just get focused on something else (like work! )... anyhoo.......Thanks again - it really does help having the support of friends! PS - our div 340 discussion has kind of seemed to fizzle out - anyone else besides cameowlot (not that I don't love you dear! ) with any info from this div?

Hi All - Just checking in on yall again!!! My son is now in P'cola Spec Ops -- PIR was 09-02.

I know yall worried about Battlestations but believe me they are well prepared for it.. In fact my son said that although some of it was challenging it was really pretty easy as long as they worked as a team!

These 3.5 weeks will CRAWL for yall and you will become even more anxious! Hang in there with each other - it really helps and as for the BS Im a Sailor calls --- We all hung out on our PIR site all day on the expect phone call day and as the calls came in we ran to the puter and posted it so the others would know that they had started. Honnalora is right ours started at about noon and mine finally came at about 4:45. Some got half an hour some of us only got 6 minutes... Its all random... Funny - dont necessarily expect them to shout out - HI MOM IM A SAILOR NOW.... My son never even mentioned it hahahah I had to ask! He was just so exhausted but proud.... for them it seemed like just another day - for all of us we were pumped to see that area code pop up!

Meet n Greet - I made fast friends and was THRILLED that I went. I helped with the decorating. Our group put a LOT into ours and we got ALOT out of it. I encourage you to attend..... We laughed, cried and just had a ball! But it all depends on how much effort you put into it!

Well, Ill check back in - Oh and remember my son was Grad N Go and I had only the PIR day and all day at Midway airport the next day with him but it was the GREATEST 12 hour day I have ever had at that airport with those crazy Sailors and their funny stories!!! {{{HUGS}}} {{{PRAYERS}}}
