Good Morning Everyone! Received a letter from SR, sounds pretty good and said he is undesignated SN. Does anyone know what that means? Have a great day!!

Karen, since they do BS21 in numerical order, it would be safe to say that your div 333 recruit will be early on in the schedule. It sounds like you will have your call well before Wednesday when you would be leaving. Hope this info has helped.

Here is what I know about BS21 (from JessicaB)

1. They ALWAYS go in numerical order.
2. They always go with their brother division as they have done all training with them.
3. 800 and 900 div are thrown in anywhere in between (however, I imagine if they have a brother division, that they would go with them).900 div usually goes on Mon
4. Anywhere from 2-4 divisions can go per night. Why sometimes 2 and sometimes 4- who knows.
5. BS is from 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
6. You will get your calls between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
After the capping ceremony in the a.m., they have to clean the ship, eat, shower, etc

Not all the new Sailors call home...some have othere dutys, have to stand watch, if they are honor rcts or award winners have to practive for PIR

So when you get your call ask if everybody in the div passed and then post it here

BS 21 is can be anywhere from a full 7-8 days prior to PIR, or as close to just a day or two before PIR. We don't have the schedule yet for each division. 900 divisions usually go on Monday, with a couple of other divisions then a couple of divisions each night. We have a big graduating class of 12 divisions, it's going to be a lot to squeeze in. I'll do my best to try to get the schedule and post it.

It is my understanding the call comes pretty soon after they finish. I'll do some checking on that (okay - looks like the call comes in the evening quite often from what I read on other groups).

I'll keep looking for info... more to follow!

Does anyone know when they do BS and we get the "I'm a sailor call"? Our plan is to leave on the Wed. before PIR, since we have at least a 14 hr. drive to Great Lakes. I don't want to miss his sailor call, but don't think we should leave before we get the official call either.

I am right there with you Karen!!! I could not have said it better myself. Also, I think with my son being away from all of us for so long he realizes how supportive we are of him! He said in his letter yesterday that "I have the best family and support anyone could ask for while going through this". That made me feel so good. I mean you always "think" you know how they feel but when they actually write it or say it - it makes a world of difference!!! I, too, can't wait until 10/8/10!!!
Comment by Karen ~ Corpsman Chris' Mom on September 14, 2010 at 9:06am
Let me rephrase that, I've always been proud to call him my son!!!!! I am just really really proud of him, as we all are of our recruits! They're strength, will, determination and dedication is so admirable. They and all of our service men and women are just simply amazing. Our recruits had a dream/goal and they are working so hard to achieve that dream/goal, I am just so proud of all of them! Can't wait until 10/8/10.

I can remember my son playing like he was in the military ever since he was a little boy! Now he's grown into a wonderful young man whom I'm proud to call my son! Not too much longer until he's a US Navy Sailor! I can't wait to see my son!!!!
