For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Consider adding to your list...
At PIR, tell them to stay put and you will find them, or vice versa. Tell them what color ribbon you are wearing if you ordered from lala, may be easier for them to search you out.

I just told another group that I think at this point the SR's are zombies just going through the motions of routine, lol. My hubs gives me random info that i don't need and the info i do need he forgets about. Brain dead...zombie. lol!!

Yeah I think being tired and relieved its all over and they forget to unlock their knees, lol. Standing for hours during a ceremony like that will do it pretty easy.

My SR is a body snatcher too for PIR, he said he will let me know where to look for him in the coming letters. txsailorsam, ask your SR to give you some specifics in his next letter.

Yeah I think my SR will do very well with Markinspike too and have fun with it. He was an Eagle Scout after all and I think they do knots and stuff, lol.

I received 2 letters today dated the 6th and 7th. He said he loved Marlinspike. That is a mock up ship where they literally learn the ropes of the Navy... pun intended. they learn to tie knots and how to secure the ship while in port. He said it was fun.
