WELCOME TO PIR 10/12/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by melray(Ship 04 Div 822) on September 1, 2012 at 11:28pm

Thank God!! I got the letter today..And guess what I cried... LOL My husband just thinks I am crazy..

He sent his box and form letter to the house address, and he sent his letter to my PO Box.. So there is no telling how long it was sitting there because I only check it once a week..

He said BC is everything he thought it would be but he misses home terribly.. This makes me sad because I knew this would be the hardest thing for him..

He also said that he was pt'd for 1 hour straight for smilling Cheif does not like his smile.. I do it cost me alot of money.. He said he did like 1000 jumping jakes and 200 push-ups..This kid smiles all the time we joked about him getting in trouble for his smile before he left..LOL

This mom is happy!!!

Hi LoriM, How funny! My Kevin is 18. My husband's family originally came from Minnesota.
Sub Dad...I think that would be awesome to get a call Monday...especially since we haven't received letters!

Kellee what is a "push division"?

Debbie T.  My son is also a Kevin on Ship 03 div 337.  We are from MI.  It is funny that there is another Kevin 6ft w/blond hair (when they had hair) his has been turning more brown as he as gotten older.  My Kevin is 21.  How old is yours?

Maybe the RDC's will really like the candy and let him call grandma to thank her :-) Now that would be awesome!!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. My hubby and son are gone on a Sword fishing trip so I am home alone. It is super quiet here. Using the time to get ahead on some things and busy, busy, busy turning my daughters room into a craft/business room. I think I could fill this room if it was 3 times bigger. So much stuff to finally get organized. It is quite an undertaking and packing up the stuff she left behind when she went away to college is making me miss her :( Have her and my Sailor girl gone makes me the only female living here and may I sure do miss them both.

Kellee: The RDCs will love his grandma because they (the RDCs) will get to enjoy some Kit Kats and Peppermint Patties.  YUM!

Comment by Kellee on September 1, 2012 at 5:07pm
Ellen - LOL, I figured it would be something like that. Just didn't tell my Mom LOL. She sent him Chapstick, Peppermint Patties and Kit-Kats! Can't wait to read the letter about that!!!!
