WELCOME TO PIR 10/12/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Kellee: I don't know what's in his care package so... Chances are the RDC will take whatever is in it and either throw it out, not likely if it is something the SR should eventually get, has value etc, they will get it to him eventually, or if it's "goodies", the RDCs may eat it themselves and tell him to thank his grandma for the goodies or make him eat it all himself right there in front of everyone. The RDCs have so many options on this one. LOL

He may get some extra IT or made fun of, but it won't be anything terrible. Your son may be embarrassed, but getting a kick out of deep inside. They may even go easy on him if he tells them it is from his grandma. I don't think any one including the RDCs can deny a grandmas love for her only grandson, just her care package. Giggling Your son will be fine.

Just noticed the Bay Area posts. I'm in No Cal....grew up in Hayward & Plesanton. Was in the City just about every weekend and of course for Giants games =o)
So cool that there are so many of us from or near the same areas!

We got a call this morning also. We're in a spotty part of Oregon today and the first call got dropped. My husband said that was an 847 number. OMg thats our daughter. Luckily she called back & our phone worked. She had about ten minutes also. Sounds good, has a cold. She said it's a little intimidating some times but she's doing good. She said their RDC allowed the call to hopefully boost the morale. Hope some more calls go out. Have a great day everyone.

Hi all. I also grew up in the bay area. Now live 40 miles from SF. My husband just made the drive yesterday from the Bay Area to Portland to take our Daughter home who lives close to Beaverton. She is a graduate of UP and know the area well. Lovely country! My husband flys home today into Sac airport. Small world. Have a great day.
