Ok...new to this. Just got my form letter late yesterday and this is the group my son is in. Some of the posts say their son has been in this for several weeks while this is only the second week my son has been there. I hear it might be a performance group..?

Anyone with info would surely be appreciated. Our target Grad date is 08/25.

If you use IE and are having trouble...click out of the page that comes up after you click the link for the gate pass. Then try again. This happens to me with the Family Guide...third time is usually the charm! If it really doesn't want to come up...switch to another browser like Firefox or Chrome. (Always make sure Chat is off to make IE run a little better. Chat is down in the bottom right hand corner of the screen...green-on...red-off))

There will be blanks to fill in...this is done by hand after you fill it out.

You may print as many as you like to keep handy!

Congrats...getting closer to seeing your future Sailors!

Guests who intend to bring their vehicle onto the base for graduation must have a gate pass. Some refer it to a parking pass. Gate pass/parking pass, it's the same thing.

The gate pass is obtained by downloading it from http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Starting 11 days prior to your recruit's graduation date, the pass will be available to download. It's normally posted by late morning. You will need a password to download the gate pass and that password is only available through your recruit. Please do not call the Public Affairs Office (PAO) to obtain the password because it will not be given to you. Again, only your recruit may give you the password.

If you do not have a gate pass, you will not be allowed to bring your vehicle onto the base. You will either need to take a taxi or hotel shuttle to the gate and then walk about 100 yards to check in at the visitors center where all guests do the same.

Troubleshooting:

Are you typing the password exactly as your recruit has written it? If so, and you still cannot access the pass, you may call PAO so we confirm you have the correct spelling.

Do you have the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer? If not, a free download is available at http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Are you clicking on the correct link for the correct graduation date? This is a common occurrence. If you've been clicking on the second date listed and then the following week when that date is bumped up to the first date listed and you're still clicking on the second date without paying attention, that would be the issue. This is a common error.

Are you using a Macintosh computer? If so, you will need to try a different computer as you are probably getting nothing but a gray screen. Our webmaster is aware of the problem with Mac users unable to download the passes and they are working to resolve the issue.

Why can't you type in the recruit's information? Because you are not supposed to do so. Simply print out the pass and handwrite in the information.

Was your recruit's graduation date set back and your old password doesn't work? Please call the PAO so we may further assist you.

Can you print out more than one gate pass? Absolutely. However, only guests who are listed on the access list may use a gate pass.

To contact the Public Affairs Office, please call 847-688-2405 or e-mail at rtc.pao@navy.mil

This is something you can print onto a card or hand write it if your recruits RDC doesn't allow printed or typed documents. Have your Sailor fill it out as soon as they get their itenerary and then after PIR they can give it to you. This way you have all the info and don't have be worried that you are at the wront gate or even worse at the worng airport. believe me it has happened :-( This is information that your Sailor won't have until a day or so before PIR so they can't mail it back to…

This is their final test and then they are sailors! Please remember that we cannot post BattleStations division dates on N4Moms or FB. We can private message them though. Be asking your SRs when they will be going through. Post on the PIR page that you have a date and others can private message you for it. Please send it to me also since I will be keeping a schedule.
