Welcome to the discussion group for division 823.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the Main wWll as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

LRNavyMom, in just a few days you will experience it all. I ordered the DVD from my son's graduation which came last Wednesday and as I was trying to show it to my mom I could feel the tears start again. It is quite a moving experience. What did your son sign his contract for? (you may have told me but if so I've forgotten)

Thank you for the tip.  We can't wait........too much excitement. :)

I have a quick question, do you know if they are allowed to have watches. We wanted to get our SR a gift and we thought about a black watch.

My SR leaves for TX next day..But thank you.. :)

Wondering what to bring my son when we come on Friday. He told his dad to probably not bring anything since he will be heading to Florida. Does anyone know how much time we will get to spend with them before they leave? I am so anxious for the call!!!

Speaking of watches. Today is going by to slooowwwww...... we even sent our clocks back on Sunday. Can we speed things up please. I want to see my SR soooo bad. Its been so long since i got a letter or heard his voice.

Please, can you tell me whether there is a way to obtain additional entrance tickets or places for the graduation (?)

Thank you,

There are no extras allowed at PIR anymore. If the name is not on the list they will not be allowed in. They changed the extras a couple weeks back. I run the Facebook group for our PIR date and I have called their office on 2 different occaisions to double check to make sure we had the correct info for our group. Children under 12 do not have to be on the list and active/retired military do  not (all need ID though inlcuding kids) everyone over 12 has to be on a list in order to have entrance.

Hi moms,

Can you please tell me at what time will we have to return our SRs to the base? how long does the graduation ceremony last? can we drive off with our SR right after it ends? I know my son leaves for Pensacola the next day. BTW, I can't wait to get his call this afternoon.

We were able to take our son off base as soon as PIR was over. He did go back to his barracks first and then we went back to the hotel for a while. He didn't have to be back to the base until around 9 although he got more antsy the later in the day it got so we took him back around 8-he didn't want to be late. Because of the hurricane in Fla he was able to stay another day so we got to pick him up on Saturday and spend the day with him. I hope to see you tomorrow. Have a safe trip.
