@ Mom from St. Pete- I am with you. I am looking forward to watching tv and eating pizza. That's what my daughter and I used to do most of the time on our girls night. Watch movies and eat comfort food.

@ Wolf Grrl- thank you so much. I copied and pasted to Word doc to send to her Grandma who is going to want to take her shopping, etc. and of course, she won't believe me but she can read it from someone who has been there. Thanks again.

I also got excited about our level of contact with them when they are in A school. Of course, I had to learn how to text to keep up with her and she just added Skype to my laptop before she left....lol.

@Kat- I am praying that the recruiter will give you the information or that your letter comes!

Thanks Wolf Girrl for the info. It is great to hear from some one who has been and gone through this. Thanks again. I was thinking like you said just to see him will be wonderful for me. I do not have to do anything just watch TV and have pizza. I cann't wait.

Well, no letter today, maybe tomorrow?

Kat - good luck with the recruiter, I hope you get the address. I know I felt better once I had a way to reach my son even if I was still waiting to hear from him.

Wolf Grrl! Thanks so much for the information on PIR. It really puts things in perspective

Devin's Mom, I would keep the service suspended as a safety precaution. He should have sent his phone back in his box, my sailor stuffed his in his shoe. Send the pre-paid phone card because he wouldn't be able to use his cell phone anyway. All the rest of his things were in the box?

I've been waiting for his form letter and today in the mail I got something even better...I got my first letter from him!!!! It was dated for last Sunday, he was still in processing and didn't have much information for me but just hearing from him is like a breath of fresh air, I'm on cloud 9!!! He said so far, so good (5 days in).

Hi HeatherSRfiance,

BTW...my name is Kat and I am Devin's mom. No, I have call into his recruiter to see if he has any information on what division he is in. I, too, have heard that it can take up to one week after the box to receive the form letter. The main reason I have a call into the recruiter is that his cell phone was not in the box and I had already suspended service. I was really curious if I should turn the service back on? or, just go ahead per plan with the prepaid phone card...nothing too big, just don't want to leave him out there without a means to call anyone if he gets the chance.

Thank you WolfGrrl for your AWESOME information!!! Probably some of the best advice I've read so far- it's a little nerve-racking not knowing what to expect at PIR, what to do during liberty, etc. This helps a ton!!

Welcome to all the new mom's in this group! It's great to have everyone even if we don't end up with the same PIR date. We are all going through the same thing, same emotions, same ride....let's support each other and we'll make it through!
