WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son is also on Ship 13 Div 011. I receive my letter in the mail on Monday with his Pir and his address. I have many questions that I would like to ask and if any one know the answer could you please comment.
1. His date on the letter for graduation is 11/23/2012 is that the correct date?
2. Will we have the chance to adoptive him the day before like is recruiter said?
3. He will start A school in Great Lakes so will he be able to have leave for the thanksgiving holiday?
4. Is there any way to order pictures of graduation or will he have to do that ?
5. I found out that is recruiter did not send him with a phone card to call home do I need to do so that way he can call?
6. How long does it take to get the first letter from him?
If anyone could answer these question I would so apperception it, I am so worried about him right now.

What does TG 2-11 mean?

Comment by Ctownmom (Ship 13, Div 011) on October 4, 2012 at 3:10pm

All you N4Moms out there you guys are they best....My cell phone rang today at work and it was my son's recruiter calling. My heart jumped into my throat and my first reaction was what's wrong. Well of course nothing is wrong except he gave me the wrong division # earlier this week. My son is actually on Ship 13, Div 011 (he gave 021 earlier). So graduation is set for Wednesday, November 21st. It was all I could do to not cry right then and there. Now I am off to the post office in hopes of receiving my letter.

diannep and lemonelphant - YOU ROCK!  Thanks f or the info.

pinkpudddles:  Some use the recruiter's address and mail letters.  Just know that the mail is being held from them for the 2 weeks...and there is also a chance that the recruiter's address is incorrect (or that your SR was moved).  They get it off of the computer. The letters should still reach them, but may take longer if the address is incorrect.

So, we N4Moms veterans usually recommend that you write the letters but wait for the form letter address (the correct address) and then put the address on all letters...and mail!  Some ladies number their letters so that the SRs can read them in order if they get lots at once (which they love, by the way...lots of letters are like Christmas presents to them).

Should clarify:  They can't write "personal" letters until 2 weeks, but the form letters (which contain their handwriting) go out before then.

Comment by diannep on October 4, 2012 at 1:52pm

sherry:  They are usually not allowed to write for the first 2 weeks, and they don't receive mail during that time.  But hoping the form letters are making their way to you all now!

Here is a link to the ship addresses, so you will have the ship number now, BMLMOM.  However, the division number is very important.  May take a while, but hopefully the letter will find your SR.

Sherry73: I surely hope so... My anxiety is out if control at this point and its only been 1 week! My son's recruitor did not give me his ship/divison info, only an address. I already mailed him a letter i hope he gets it!

BMLMOM my son left on the 26th and I still do not have his form letter.  A mom from this site some how found out he would be in this PIR.  They say Thursday is letter day so maybe today.  :)
