21 days until I fly out. Yipeee! After getting a really nice long letter from my girl, I'm really anxious now. I'm hoping her division is pulling together better now - sounds like it got off to a rough start jelling-wise....the expectations/attitudes of those straight out of high school verses those with a few years on their own are making it difficult to mesh it seems... :-/  Growing pains for all of them. She also has the 0200 watch which means more sleep deprived than usual. I had to laugh when she said she was drinking straight black coffee now - she doesn't like getting called out in class for snoozing - a plight she's had for every early morning class from high school on. She purposefully took 9am and later classes in college to avoid that 'little issue'...lol.

I have a feeling she may just want to chill with the family during her liberty day(s) - peace and quiet....which will be very interesting to maneuver because her dad is being a poop lately. I'm beginning to rethink whether I want to share a car with him during our time up there....I'm reminded quite frequently lately why our divorce was a GOOD thing.... Looking forward to hanging with some of you ladies once our Sailors are safely back on base in the evenings..... :-)

Happy November everyone. 'Tis the season!

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you are all having a great day.  Have a safe Halloween, watch out for those little ones.  Can you believe that tomorrow is November already?????  I'm going to be a hyperactive mess by the time our graduation roles around.

Jenn:  It is amazing how much they will improve in the run.  2 minutes seems like a long time, but it is "conquered" all of the time by these SRs!  Prayers that he has wings on his feet!

My ribbons arrived today! I also bought something for my son's girlfriend away at school.  They are not allowed candles in the dorm room. So I bought one of those battery operated candles that you put in your windows at Christmas.  I also purchased a tall blue mosaic candle holder (the kind that you could put a pillar in). She can put the battery operated candle in there and pretend it's a blue candle.

Cheryl - I'm so glad that you got your call - even though it was hard to hear.  Congratulations!!

About the food - my son says that the food isn't too bad - but I'm really not that great a cook - so anything is probably an improvement.  :)  Plus he's like dianne's son - not too picky and will eat almost anything.

Kendra - my son said he was 2 minutes slow on the run.  I'm a little concerned.  But I know that they work hard with the kids to improve those times.  So let's keep each other kids in our prayers for fast feet.  I told him that he has to pass because I really want to see him but I also need to come out and meet all my new Navy mom friends :)

Happy Monday everyone - and happy Halloween!!

(BTW - my SR is off to Pensacola for A school too - so it looks like some of us will be hanging around with each other for a while longer.)

Good morning, everyone.  Hope all have a great day!  Start asking your SRs for BattleStations dates and private message them to me.  I will keep a schedule and then send it out.  HOOYAH!

Hello Everyone! About liberty after PIR: I was told by the recruiting officers that the liberty depends on the Sailors rate/job training. Some classes may not start right away or not until after December 16 (this is when half of the group at A-school have their Christmas break, the other half has to wait until after Christmas when the others return). I know a few sailors here in Miami that came home for 1-2 weeks before going to A-school, but they couldn't just come home and 'chill'..lol, they had to work with their recruiter or the recruiting office to put in some volunteer/work study hours. But some may also have liberty after A-school before they go to their permanent duty station! Hang in there Moms! You'll get a chance to spend some quality time with your new Sailors for a little while.

navywife...."meeting" so many people on various groups, I forget who's who sometimes.  Of course, you're 801, I've "talked" with you on the SEAL group. haha Don't feel bad about posting about an extra call.  I, for one, am thrilled.  It's fun to hear about others good news!!
