Hi Cubmom, is your friend connected to this particular discussion group? If she could get on there, the PIR 11/23/2011 group then we could fill in the blanks for her. Does she have arrangements yet for travel, lodging, etc? Is she coming alone? With spouse or other family? Let me know who she is and I can private message her to get up to date with what some of us are doing - red scarves, ribbons, Meet and Greet the night before, and T-day dinner at the Navy Lodge (in our rooms but sharing the cost of prepared meal from a local market), etc.

Hello ladies!  I need some help.  I have a friend that I met in MEPS --her son PIR is 11-23..  I know you guys are doing things special for the graduation --I have read some post but, I wanted to pass this info on to her.  She is on the site but, has felt a little overwhelmed with everything so she doesn't get on very often.  If any one could help me I would be so appreciative.  I want to pass this info to her.  Thanks!!

Kendra:  You can receive division tshirts before PIR.  But you have to order early.  And I believe they only have the gray ones ready before PIR, not the black ones?  Not sure on that.  Some wear them when in GL because they ordered early and received them before they left.

Ok, Jenn....Yes, there is cheering when each division comes in...no air horns!  HA!  You can't help but cheer when you spot your sailor's division coming in. It is quite a moment!

Woohoo!  Got my letter!  Was pretty funny.  He want's me to print off all the NFL scores, guess everyone is asking him for them.  I only print out the Steelers.  I sent a questionnaire and one of the questions was "How is the division coming together, 1-10 and he said -10!!!" but that was on 10/22 and when I talked to him this week he said it was alot better.  Just glad I got to hear from him again.

Hey - I have a PIR question veterans!  At PIR is it appropriate to cheer when your SR's division comes in or is it a more reserved venue?  Are air horns appropriate? (just kidding!)  I try to envision it as they come in but just was never sure if there was only applause or all out woo hoo cheering.

My daughter said they were designing their flag she was excited to be doing that so I wonder when the shirts would be ready and would they be shipped before PIR?

Yes, Tiffani.  Dogs and other pets are the BEST!  Best therapy we could ever have!  :-)

Thanks so much, Diana.  Had him at my vet's office today...relief vet there who I liked alot.  He seems much better today.  Thinking he had a lower back issue yesterday.  Said he is healthy as a horse!  My sweet Mom insisted on paying a huge part of the $700 vet bill (2 separate bills).  She wanted to pay it all but I wouldn't let her and didn't want to accept this.  She insisted...she feels so badly this happened at this time especially with all I have been doing for their household with her recuperating from surgery (I'm running it....YIKES!).

division tshirts:

Remember, your SRs could have ordered some for you all to surprise you with.  But it won't hurt to have some "extras" floating around!  Remember, your SRs (in each division) design the logo ("flag").
