Sorry Lynne...how worried you must be.. will be saying extra prayer for you and your son tonight. My son still has a slight cough..I swear I think they all get sick..maybe they need to change a few things ...my son never gets sick and has been sick in BC.

Lynne, it is truly a heartbreaking situation that your son has been put through but as someone who got sick during tech school (like A school for the Air Force) and I couldn't call my mother as that exact moment and she went through my chain of command...all I ever heard for the weeks remaining there was how I could not hold my own and had to have my "mommy" call and stick up for me so I am just saying you will not help his career by trying to reprimand an RDC for his actions.

I am okay y'all and really it isn't about me...because what happened is done and over. But, everyday our recruits are forced to follow very rigid rules and are held accountable for how they walk, how they dress, how they fold their underwear for heaven's sakes and I get it. However, in order to teach accountability, you have to be accountable. That will be my point. I won't be complaining about what happened to my son as much as making a point. And, it won't be me making the complaint, but rather someone who has way more clout than me and someone to whom they will sit up and take notice of .....trust when I say that!! What is done is done...so next week I will do battlestations again...and the good news is...my son is no longer grad and go. I get to spend the whole weekend with him!!

Lynne, I am so sorry to hear about this setback, but at least the good news is that your son is still on track for graduation! I know you're disappointed as is your son, but it's good to hear that he's getting treatment for the pneumonia. That's nothing to mess with!! If they caught it early enough, the antibiotics for that usually work very quickly and he should be feeling much better very soon. Hang in there!! We'll keep praying for you and your son. HUGS to you :)

Ok.. In Lynne's optimistic fashion...let's look at the bright side of this mess...he is getting care now and must feel so relieved to have finally talked to mom...AND still on track for PIR! So prayers and good thoughts for him...and hugs and continued support for our fearless group leader!! We are here for you Lynne!! Chin up!

Lynne- I'm praying for your son. Thank God he didn't break a bone or anything. Glad you are still with us. I dont post too much on here, and I'm just a best friend to a future sailor, but you've truly been such a blessing to this group. I read this website every hour. Again, i will pray for your son, and the other men that have faced bumps in their journey through bootcamp. I am so glad you are going to say something about the rules being broken. So many times people will not fight injustices in bootcamp and the military in general because they are intimidated. As Kat said, I can only imagine the stress and frustration your son felt. Let's hope that doesnt happen to anyone else in the future.

Dear Lynne, So sorry to hear this. After all these weeks of his hard work, your son IS a Sailor. Will be praying that he gets well quickly, and completes the last few tests. And praying that the RDC who would not allow him to call you will be held accountable, so that another recruit and family doesnt have to go through this. Hang in there, we are all here for you, and praying...

Lynne - That is just sooooo wrong. I can only imagine the stress your son was under knowing that he was not finishing up with his own division. He is now in my son's division, so hopefully they will embrace him well and things will go o.k. from here on out.
Just hope he is feeling much better now, and sorry you have to wait that much longer for him to become a sailor.

I've not had a phone call today and praying that phone doesn't ring and that my son passed that run today.

I'm wondering if our guys knew but couldn't say...it seemed weird that no one knew anything when we asking them.
And momma...yes he is a sailor!
