My son mentioned running out of room to keep our letters. I think I read someone on this site that we could mail a big envelope for them to send letters back home.  Is this true? Is there a way to do that without making it awkward for our SRs? I've been very diligent in sending only envelopes that won't cause extra attention to my SR...but I know he doesn't want to throw away any letters...especially from his fiancé. lol

Yes, they do, BlessedNavyMom.  If you have extras, sometimes they can watch there.  But they prefer that unless these are children or elderly/disabled who need to be close to family that they stay off base to watch it.   You can confirm with RTC Public Affairs on that   847 688 2405

That is what I have read in various areas. Some say the stream is not that great there but I am sure the veterans can fill us in on that :)

I talked to her about this before she left. I told her she will be with kids from all over the US from all backgrounds and experiences and that it will be very different than what she is used to. And that it might at times be very difficult. She is learning!  It will be great to see all of these kids work together at PIR!

Michael'sMom:  Happens in every group....that they don't work together in the beginning.  They get it done and you will see this at PIR!

Thank you again to all of you for your support, prayers, and kind words. What a day...she ended up calling me this afternoon. I am very thankful for her call. I was a mess all day worrying about her. She was released from the hospital this morning and is doing well. She sounds much better than she has in her previous calls. There is also other drama with some of the girls that makes it harder for everyone.  But she is a strong girl and will get through it. She is learning a lot about people and life. I am so grateful for this site and all of you!  I can't wait to meet at PIR!  5 weeks left!!!
