Welcome to the discussion group for division 803.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

thank you !!!
i am amazed at how much i DON'T know !!!!
I just received my first letter from Son....WOW! Wow....I miss my son terribly but so proud..!

That's awesome! I can't wait to receive one!

I received two letters from my son today.  I can't really tell which one was written first, because you can't read the date on the envelope.   He sounds down.   He said Special Ops is not for WHIMPS (except he used another word that mothers wish they would not use).  He said there are some that are dropping out and that he even considered it.   He thinks he is the weakest one in the unit because he said he has trouble getting the push ups he needs and done correctly.

He said they are beating them down physically, mentally and emotionally.   He said he was going to hang in there, but it did not sound like my son.   My son is an Eagle Scout and has always been a little cocky.  He did not sound cocky.   He sounded tired.   He said they get 3 to 8 hours a sleep a day if they are lucky.    He also said in one of his letters that everyone is getting sick.   He was sick yesterday when he called me.  He was in the Infirmary when he called and they were needing more information.     Makes me sad.   I want to tell him to hang tough.   I write him everyday and tell him that at the end of the letter.   I hope he does.  I hope he does not give in.      He said he has not made any friends because there is no time to really get to know anyone.   I tried to tell him the names of some of the boys whose moms gave me their first names on this site, and he said he does not know first names.  He needs last names.  I told him I could not give him those.    :0(       Pray for our sons and daughters.    I know my child and as tough as I think he is, I have no doubt he is struggling.   This is only bootcamp.   They have A school to survive.

No letters from my son yet Felicia.  Sounds like they are having a rough time of it - I can imagine that the cold weather, the lack of sleep, and constantly being yelled out doesn't help mentally or emotionally.  And, then being sick makes it so much worse.   So wishing my boy would call but then again no news is good news.  Would gladly give you my son's last name but probably not on this site.  Are you on the FB group for this PIR?

Will keep all of our sons and daughters in my prayers.  They have a long road ahead of them and this is only the beginning.  Hugs.

Maybe a letter tomorrow.

I hope you get a letter.   I'm not sure if it helps to get one or not.   I am hoping his attitude improves a little as we go on.  I am a little worried about his mental state right now.     No, I have not joined the facebook group for this PIR.

What is it called?

hey Felicia..........
i was just wondering if you heard any more about Jared..........
hope he is feeling better.......
tough nite sleeping...was up and on tread-climber at 4:45 this morn............
gave me a chance to say my prayers for our sons and for ALL the sons.........
i am exhausted from the storm and the school madness and sean hospital thing and now it is SNOWING and high winds..........
most of all i just WORRY sooooooooooooooo much about Conor.......do you think that is "normal"............
i have to figure out how i am going to afford to travel out there and i dont understand the leave thing........do they HAVE leave? how long? is it that DAY (PIR) or do they report to A school after PIR (i think i read that somewhere) and then have next day "off".........???
i'm confused and wish i had more time to be "on" here.......
sigh........
hope all is well..
mary
gotta start the process of hoisting Sean into bed and then clean off ramp and car so it wont be too much to do in morning .............

Mary,

It has not been confirmed yet, but they are saying they will get the 21st thru the 30th for Christmas Break.  They have to be back on base ready to go on the 30th.  With that said, that has not been confirmed.   I understand the money issue.   It is going to be tough on us too.   We are driving from West Texas.   It is a 21 hour drive.

Then if they do get leave, I guess we will let him ride home with us and then put him on a flight home.

I can't imagine being in your predicament.   I wish I was closer, I would be glad to come over and help.  Do you have family close?   I hope you get a letter from Conor soon.   Let me know how he sounds.   Are you able to find time to drop him a line.   Do you have a facebook page?   If so, there is apparently a group on facebook for this PIR date.   (Post in Review 12-21-12)   I am going to go look for it.    If we can exchange last names privately then maybe we can give our sons someone to look for to say hey too.

I was wondering if anyone else was driving. I live in Shreveport, LA. So, it's about a 16 hour drive for me. But it will be cheaper to drive, and I would be kind of nervous that the plane would get delayed and I wouldn't make it on time. So, I'm highly considering just driving. Then, he'll just be able to ride home with me on the way back and we don't have to worry about extra plane tickets or anything.

I'm trying to decide what nights to get the hotel for... I'm thinking maybe just Thursday night...?

We will be driving from Atlanta, GA.  It's about a 13 or so drive for us.  There will be 3 of us travelling so just more economical to drive.  IF they can come home, he'll just ride with us and then fly back.

Unfortunately, I think I'll be making my long drive there alone :(
