N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you FireTeamLeaderWife for keeping this going even though they have moved on they are still struggling with being away from home....luckily they have their friends from bootcamp to help them adjust to their new environment !!! Bless you all!!!

Guys,

Just to let you know I'm going crazy getting the USS Burke Challenge coin done.  The non-spec ops one Burke will be done on the 11th.  The Spec-Ops one will be soon after that.  The Spec-Ops coin is much, much, harder to make because the mold is very detailed because of the skull.  The orginial mold just didn't look good and I rejected it...

So, those that got non-spec ops will be seeing it soon.  Just wanted to give you the update...  Sorry, but hopefully you will see it soon...

My girl got to Florida with no problems. She went to The USo and a family that had sons going to the base took her. We have been lucky that she has had good people helping her. I miss her so much but atleast I get to talk to her more now.

You are so lucky to have Sarge at GL ...my son had to report to Gulfport by 4 yesterday but his plane was delayed at the gate, he missed his connecting flight and after finding a change arrived at Biloxi with only minutes TO spare and took a random taxi to the base....how I wished we could have call Sarge cause I know he would have made sure my son got to the base in plenty of time!!! Happy New Year Sarge!!!!

Oh mickeyd - that is wonderful what Sarge did for your son!  He truly is an amazing gentleman.....he was there for us when our son PIR'd - he made our trip and travels much easier!

Comment by mickeyd on December 31, 2012 at 7:49pm

I want to share to you about Sarge is what he did for us last night. Our son flew back to GL yesterday and Sarge was at the airport to pick him up. We had scheduled ahead for this of course. What Sarge did for our son was over and above what we expected. Because it was a little late Sarge took our son to his house to pickup his personal car because it has a pass on it to get him on base. Sarge took our son to the gate he needed to check in at and waited on him and then drove him the two miles to his ship so he would not have to try and find it alone and in the cold and dark and with all his gear. I was blown away! Oh yea and Sarge called us at home to let us know he had our son and what was going to happen. I am so thankful for Sarge. I know without a doubt that if our sailor needs anything while he is in A school, Sarge will help if possible. Sure made this sailor's mama breath easy!

My son just left this morning for A school. Tears are inevitable. I am not in such shock as when he left for bootcampt though. I was able to enjoy him for a week and it was true bliss.  I'm so proud of him and all of "our" young men and women.
