By the way--Sacha makes great monster cookies. So glad our rooms were on the same hallway and she shared.:)

What a wonderful weekend!! The Meet and Greet was nice. It was so nice to meet Sacha, Peggy, JentKD screamingmama, ER NURSE and everyone else. The P I R was very moving and I was able to pick out my son as they came in ( I was a little worried but as soon as I saw him I knew) He couldn't see us until the girl in front of him passed out but after she was taken out he found us> I hope she was OK. How many Moms and wives have sons and husbands still in GL at A School? Let's keep in touch.

It was great to meet some of the people at the Meet and Greet. My husband is still in Great Lakes for FC A school. Can't wait till he gets weekend liberty so that my daughter and I can go for another visit. Hope everyone enjoyed what time they had with their loved ones.

Just got home about an hour ago from PIR. It was wonderful and I am so impressed with everything about the Navy. My son has grown up so much and is such a sweet, wonderful gentlemen. My husband and I are so proud of the accomplishments that have been made and very impressed by all the young men and women we came in contact with this past weekend. Our thanks and appreciation to the RDCs and to all of you for your encouragement and support. God Bless all of you and your families.

I love reading the stories of your time at PIR with your Sailors. It sounds as though everyone had a great time. Brian and Niki got home about 1 this morning. They were both very tired but had to tell me more about their trip. Needless to say none of us got very much sleep. Niki is off to school and Brian and I are off at work. We have been looking forward to this trip to PIR so much and I can't believe it is behind us now. I guess there is only bigger and better adventures ahead of us. Logan arrived in SC yesterday. It is so nice just to be able to pick up the phone and talk to him. He needed to catch a shuttle to buy an alarm clock. I guess they will no longer be getting their warm wake up calls. LOL :-) I have added new photos to my page of the so for anyone who wants to see my Sailor.
Welcome back Moms and please keep checking in and letting us know what is going on.

It was great meeting a few of you Moms at the Ramada Inn! Time was so short! I stayed at the Quality Inn off of Greenbay, which I do not recommend, but it was only 2 nights. I would like to visit my son again, half way through A school, if he can have visitors. He's on base there, hospital corpsman. Photo below, my son and my dad. It was a great time, but so short and I cried so much when I had to say bye.....

I agree about the difficulty of getting around. We did have our GPS (very helpful). We stayed in Lincolnshire, very nice place but a little far away. If I had it to do over again I would prob stay at Residence Inn (gurnee). Our hotel gave us a grad handout but we went to Res. Inn and got theirs. It contained so much more. We tried to drive into Chicago to see Navy Pier(eventhogh I told my husband N4M's recommends the train) We never saw the Pier, it was crazy with traffic, but we did see the biggest, coolest McDonalds ever. My teens thought that was worth it. We did get to the mall, it was ok, I'm not into the mall. We did get to the NEX probably 5 times, I was NEX'd out! Oh well, next time it's the train.
Everywhere we went someone would come up to my son and express their gratitude for him choosing to serve our country. That was great to see, I would well up inside every time.
