Hey guys: My son is a Nuke in DIV 145. He wound up getting a new bunkmate that is also a Nuke who is from NJ. He wanted me to see if his mom was on here...

Momof6 - Yes enjoy your time together. I think their leaving for A-school depends on their jobs and where they are going. My DIL had to wait for one month before beginning her A-school. We will take what we can get as well. We love him!

BTHRASHER, just noticed that I wrote "recruit" and by that weekend, he will be your "sailor." =)

BTHRASHER, my son will be going to Missouri. I hope you will get the weekend with your recruit! I am somewhat disappointed, but will take what I can get. I will need several cups of coffee to get myself to the airport by 4am!! Ha! We plan to make the most of it anyway. Never been to the area, so we will have time to explore.

Does anyone know what their schedule is like for A school? (Maybe they are all different?) I mean, is it 7 days a week or weekends off or ...? He mentioned having a full weekend off the weekend following PIR. We may be able to visit him halfway through his 13 weeks of school or something. I don't want to be "clingy" but wow, he's really going to be gone for quite some time, with only short visits home. That part is just now starting to sink in!

To Momof6 - Where is your son going to A school? My son is going to San Antonio. I have not heard from him yet regarding when he will be leaving. I hope it is not that Saturday. We thought he would be there until Monday. Please let me know if you can since communication is so spuradic. Thanks.

TJs mom, no word from Troy this week at all. No letter either. So hopefully next week. :)

Denbarb, when I talked to my recruit a week ago Friday (3/5) he said it would be two weeks before he'd call again. But, I'm wondering now if his call will be on Friday again or not. He is scheduled to perform at the graduation ceremony (this Friday and next I think) He said they would be performing at 2 ceremonies before theirs and the first one would be in two weeks (from when I talked to him) I know what you mean though. I carry both phones with me all the time too! I used to charge my cell in the kitchen at night. Now I plug it in by the bed and sleep with it by my pillow (just in case!!)

Have a great week! Hope you get a call from your recruit soon!! (hope we all do!)
