Kanga123 my daughter is in division 147. She said we might be getting a call from her today. She has her 4 guests picked out. We are going to be booking a hotel today. I'm excited. Laura

Denbarb, My son, Andrew, is also in the same Ship/Div as Jackie's. They are a performance div. Although there are others in the Div.. former ROTC's and Nukes. They will seat guests and other duties during graduation. Andrew and I believe Jackie's son are in band so they will be performing that way. Others are in flags or rifles.

Jackie, send me a message with your son's name.. I'm writing to Andrew and I'll see if he knows him. He said the same thing "will probably call again in 2 weeks!" He sounded so great!! I'm still floating on air after talking to him. Made our flight, hotel and rental car arrangements today.. Is it 4/8 yet so I can go to the airport?

How many Moms are planning to go the meet and greet at the Ramada Thurs night?

Jackie I know you were thrilled to hear his voice. It's so reassuring just knowing they're really doing o.k. With our motherly instinct we each would know if they were trying to cover up. I know my son is really doing o.k. and he's very happy the 1st 2 weeks are behind him and his division. You said your son will be performing at upcoming graduations, what does his division do? Looking forward to 4/9!

Troys mom,

We've made our hotel and car rental reservations but were waiting to find out if he was going to be a grad and go. He said today he wouldn't know until a week before and that we should just plan on making it a mini vacation even if he has to head straight to his A school in Meridian Miss. So I'll be working on that tomorrow, we plan on flying in early on Thursday so we can attend a meet and greet with other families Thursday evening. I asked him if there's anything I could bring for him i.e. his ipod, computer, phone. He said NO!! They were shown a film about liberty and they are not to return from liberty with anything they didn't leave with. Apparently a recruit that was with their family for the day had a cell phone and forgot to give it back to their family, the next day they were court marshalled. All he wants is a long shower alone and to spend time with us. He thought it was so neat that we connected on Navy for moms too. 33 days and counting.

TJs mom, That is the best! I'm so glad you got to talk to him. Troy called this morning, too! I talked to him a while, then he talked to his dad a while... then me again. He was going to call a friend afterward. I checked with her a little bit ago, she was so happy she got a call, too! Thanks for passing along the message from TJ, too. I can't wait to see our recruits! Have you made your reservations yet?

Hi All,

I received the best surprise this morning as I was shopping in Costco, my son called and I totally lost it in the middle of the store.I told everyone staring at me it's my son calling from bootcamp !!! He sounds so awesome and says his division is doing well, it just took some time for all of them to come together. The division started with 88 and it's now down to 79, some recruits were sent home for varied reasons throughout RTC he wasn't specific. Troy's mom, he said to tell you he received a promotion and is now a section leader. Even though their given the extra responsibilities for achieving goals, they are still responsible for the time away from their division. So they miss out on some mandatory training. He miss addressed a Capt for a Leutenant and won't be doing that again any time soon:) I told him to spread the word about Navyformoms.com to the other recruits in the division as well. Have a great weekend everyone, I'm flying on cloud 9 since this morning. TJs mom

Really late, but I will have to get on and catch up in the morning. Got my letter today and still walking on cloud 9 at 2:00 a.m. Don't think I'll be up early in the morning. : ) Return address that his ship number is different than the one he sent. Does anyone know, do I start using the new one. He told me in his letter he got mail from me. Said he got yelled at because it came before they were suppose to get mail. Don't know how that happened, but he said it was cool as it really helped. Just realzied that if the return address is right, there is actually a discussion group for him now. What an awesome day made by two little sheets of paper with his writing on them. Says it is really rough and harder than he thought and that he misses us. Funny, but I can tell even though he said those things that he is o.k. Much better than the three lines on the form letter.
