Troy's Mom - that is great!!! My DIL got a call from my son yesterday. He's Ship 3 Div 145 so I assume that they are "brother" divisions. My son called around 3:30 yesterday. We had gotten letters on Wednesday. Mine is a section leader for Div 145 and a flag bearer. Hopefully my recruit will get to call home this weekend too. I too keep my cell phone with me EVERYWHERE. I put it vibrate in church and everybody knows that if I jump up and run, I've gotten a call from bootcamp.

My son called yesterday! I was at work and on my afternoon break! I was so excited when I saw that 847# come up on my cell! He sounds fabulous. Except that he is getting over a bad cold. But he was very upbeat and sounded happy. He is a section leader and Laundry PO (Petty Officer). He said he should get a longer phone call this weekend, didn't know if it would be Saturday or Sunday, but that's ok, I go NO WHERE without my cell! =) Said he loves all the mail. AND THEN when I got home from work - I had a my second letter! T'was a beautiful day yesterday! And I'm still floating around on clouds today!

Kanga: Thanks for the extra info on the mail. I thought my son said they only sent the mail out once a week. Just wasn't sure if we heard that correctly and what day. Also, my son said that they are having to stand a lot of watches so that can impact their letter writing time as well.....

It is great that we are all getting little bits of info. Now I just hope I don't put 2 and 2 together and get 5!!

Mardee: I understand the anxiety that you have. My son is in DIV 145. He got there on 2/10. As of yesterday we had only gotten 1 letter and then we were fortunate to get about 15-20 minute phone call yesterday afternoon. My son told my husband yesterday that the mail can really be hit or miss with coming out to us. What he said is that they (the DIV) send the mail out. Then it goes to someplace called "Goodwill" (not sure if we heard that correctly). They then are the ones who are responsible for getting out to be mailed. So depending on when the letters get into the pipe line could determine when we get them. He did say that mail seems to be getting to them pretty well. He did say that he had written since the last letter so apparently we just haven't gotten them yet. Hope this helps......

Mardee adn Deanna, My son arrived 2/9. You should be geting your call soon! Hang in there it is so worth the wait to hear his voice. I have felt like I was walking on cloud nine all evening. Try not to worry. Remember no call is also good news since the only other time they call is if they failed something. Will keep my fingers crossed for you both.

I know Mardee. I was just telling my husband.. "a lot of the mom's with kids in Andrew's PIR are getting calls already." ... Maybe he'll get to call this weekend. We did get a letter today. It was short. But, great to 'hear' from him. I'm so anxious to hear his voice though!

I almost didn't get on because I was afraid I would start worrying. Haven't gotten letters or a call. I know some with PIR of 04/09 arrived a week before he did. Can those of you who heard from your child tell us when the arrived at BC? For those of you that heard from yours congrats! For those of us who haven't, does this worry you as much as it worries me?
