I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be…Continue

Hi all, I thought I'd start a discussion for those of us with SRs who will be heading to Charleston, SC together for the NUKE program so we can stay together through that as well!

You are probably getting tired of hearing my stories, but I thought this one might help buoy the spirits of those waiting to hear if their SRs passed their runs.
I'm suppose to test for my 2nd degree black belt in Karate in 3 weeks. Last Sat when I went to training I couldn't remember how to do techniques I learned years ago and we practice semi regularly on. My new techniques are far from ready for testing. I went through this when I tested for my 1st degree black belt. Once I get back from PIR my sensai and I will start some intensive work and somehow he will help me figure out the stuff I'm not getting. In the end I expect I'll be ready. Sometimes it just takes some of us a little extra help to figure out how to get over the hurdle and hopefully that is what FIT does for the SRs.
Those waiting unless you've heard otherwise your SRs may have tested with Div 198 which tested last night. My SR is part of that div and I haven't gotten an "I'm a Sailor"call nor have I seen anyone else recieve calls from this div.
It doesn't matter how Norfolk is pronouned anywhere else because coming out of my mouth they will both sound the same.
He probably knows because he is undesignated right now and requested Norfolk as his home base. With this being the Navy his assignment could change before he gets there. He does have some type of A school between BC and VA but he didn't tell me where that was. I'm pretty confident he will be stationed in VA at first.
Everyone I have to share my funny dilemna.
I have 2 kids, my SR and a son. My SR will be stationed in Norfolk, VA. My other son's wife got a teaching job and they will be moving to Norfolk, NE. On top of that the motorcycle manufacturer that I sell has a model of motorcycle called a Thruxton. Over the weekend I got a letter from my SR telling me he will be on the USS Truxtun. I'm going to really have to be clear when I'm talking to people or everyone will be confused. I'm confused just thinking about it.
I'm sorry...I am very happy for everyone! I know it's so emotional! I would have fainted if I had gotten a I'm a sailor call today. Congrats!!!!! ♥
I am so happy for all of you!!
G'Mom- Praise God! That is such good news!!\
Here4 and Parrot- No worries. They will just be doing Battlestations with 199/200- quite a good group of friends there. They'll do it. I know they will. They know they need to now. Before there was a backup. The adrenaline will kick in and they'll do it.
G'smom...I'm happy for you...I know how hard all this hass been for you.
See I knew we would not get a call about the stingking run! Typical! My understanding the run can only be taken every other day! Now I'm going back to frustrated!
