Goodmorning all, havent been on in a couple days.If it were not for bad luck,we would have no luck at all!! At least thats how i feel right now! I just hope it doesnt come in 3's cause ive had just about all i can handle for right now! really!
ON tuesday my day started pretty much normal, got up talked to you, went to work.I work for the ARC as a phlebotomist so im on the road in a diffrent city everyday, well tuesday i was sent to a very small town w/no cell phone signal on my phone(nextell). My boss got a phone call soon after we got thier. On the other end of the phone was another one of my bosses and all she said to me was "your son dakota was hit by a car riding his bycycle and has been lifeflighted to Toledo,OH" I was over a hour away from home(made it in 30min)and another 1 and a 1/2 hours from Toledo. My husband had been trying to reach me for a hour already and finally gave up and called ARC.No one would tell me anything about his condition till we got to the hospitol(almost 3 hours later) i got lost in Toledo and couldnt find the hospitol. Being in the medical field i understand HIPPA,but ive never been on the other end of it before(it sucks) Why cant we microchip our kids so we can easily be id'd as thier parent and given information before we have a heart attack ourselves with worry.
He was hit by a 77 yr old woman in a dually truck, she miss judged her distance and hit him in the head w/her mirror, he was unconciouse at the scene and didnt regain conciouseness till lifeflight arrived.hHe totally doesnt remember the accident or the next 18 hours after. We got to bring him home last night after all his tests came back negative. He has alot of cuts, scrapes and bruises,no broken bones but a concussion. All joking aside we really are the luckiest people to have been able to bring our son home from a accident like this!!!!!!!! things really could have turned out badly,I did alot of praying and thanking GOD for our good fortune!! We are not telling our SR any of this till PIR weekend, koty will be fine and i dont see anyreason to stress our SR anymore than he already is,he has enough on his plate right now, plus hes just like his mother he will worry that im not telling him everything. He doesnt need the extra worry!
On to better things! i got a letter, short and sweet as usual but i really needed to hear from him! He got a ribbon for EXSPERT MARKSMEN and the div 288 got a flag finally so he is very happy.
All he wants to do PIR weekend is hang out w/family and gf and eat(anything not from there). He loved weapons training,Hes a big deer hunter here,He got his 1st deer last year w/ a bow.
He also told me he gets plenty of mail and so does everyone else in his div.
Thank- you all for listening to me go on,I feel so close to all of you that i felt guilty staying out of touch for a couple days(even w/good reason).

Good Morning-Just 2 WEEKS now Ladies!!

CaliMom--Thank You So Much for sharing your letters!!! I dont know about you but its like therapy for me to read others letters and share my sons..it gives me a sense of what is going on with my son and his 'other' family. Because in a sense that is what they've become. And it sounds like the time is wearing on them too..
msbabyphat-- I agree I dont know that I could've survived as well as I have this past weeks since he left without all of you! I cant wait to meet you all and give everyone of you the biggest hug!!!!
Im praying for all our men&women and their divisions!!!!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed for a letter today :-)

Mornin all! WOW so many great letters from our sailors!! And thank you CaliforniaMom for sharing this morning. I think we all live through each others letters from our sailors as some of us are not getting letters like we would want to ---so to all of those who share with the group---THANK YOU!!

I was just sitting here at work telling my co-workers how I now have "extended family" on N4M's. We have become so close and at times so personal with each other even though we have never met in person. The one unique bond we share is the proudness and love that we share over our wonderful sailors!! So amazing isn't it?
Have you notice how we all have this overwhelming need to read each and every post making sure that we back track to the last post we read--we have to follow up on everyone's ups and downs daily. This addiction keeps us moving until the wonderful day arrives -------PIR!!!!!!

So I would like to take this time and thank you for being part of my "family" and helping me through my day to day struggles of missing my son since he left for BC. I have learned so many wonderful things from each of you.

Bless you yall!!!
