My daughter is also in Div 319. We are counting down the days now to PIR! We can't wait! Looking forward to seeing our Sailors and meeting their families.
I just found this group. My son is in this division. Love the picture even though he isn't in it. Still, it make me feel closer to him. I can't wait. We leave in 11 days! He hasn't said anything about the flag. Thanks for the information on this page.
We got phone call this afternoon! They earned it for getting 4.9 out of 5.0 for marching & drill. Also said that BS is not Friday, but Tuesday night.
We also got a phone call from our daughter. She said they got has an almost perfect marching/drill and an outstanding inspection. She was so excited and said they she was going to get a candy bar. She sounded like a little kid on Christmas morning, just so excited to be able to finally eat candy. She also said BS started on Tuesday and to expect the I'm a Sailor call from her on Wednesday.
SO.......Now here is a question to ponder......

Who do you think is more excited about PIR, our SRs/Sailors or US???? :)
I'd have to say both. from the couple of times i've spoken to him and from his letters he's very anxious for it to be done and get on to Aschool :)
I think it's both as well. Although my daughter absolutely loves boot camp, she calls it summer camp. She told her dad she was a little disappointed that it wasn't like the boot camp that her dad experienced 20 years ago.
Really, wow!!! I really do find it interesting how each SR looks at it. I have read some oters that have said the same thing like summercamp with exercise. :)
Pray for our recruits! Their turn at BS is Tues nite!
My son is also in this Division also. Looking forward to friday!
Congrats to all our new sailors!!!!!
