How do I find out when my son's PIR will be? He shipped out on 3/5/19. Have not heard from him yet except for a "micro call" telling me he had safely arrived (while drill sergeants were YELLING in the background! lol). Thanks for any help!

Hey everyone! My son doesn't leave for boot camp until 2/5/18 but I'm trying to get ahead in all my info.
Is it true that only 4 people can attend graduation? Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question but I'm new here and that's the info I've gotten so far from the Naval website.
Thanks!

My son graduated in the Navy last June 16. The reason I am posting this is so that the moms out there will be fully informed about PIR date. In as much as we want to know everything there are times we still don't. We knew all along that my son will graduate on June 16 base on the letter that we received from him. You know? that letter that is pre- made and all recruits have to mail it to their parents 2 days after they arrive in Great Lakes. However in our case it was already June 13 and we…

You know? that letter that is pre- made and all recruits have to mail it to their parents 2 days after they arrive in Great Lakes. However in our case it was already June 13 and we still don't know if he was going to make it because I never receive the I'M A SAILOR call yet. Nonetheless we drove 16 hours and took the chance. Anyway, to make the long story short, our son called us in the afternoon of June 13 saying that he pass the final test which is the battle station. I could hardly hear him. He said his division did not sleep for 2 days and that he lost his voice but nonetheless very happy. I would like to tell you that they conduct battle station as late as the night before their graduation. One of his fellow recruit during the time failed the battle station with them and ended up being sent to a battle station the night before graduation. What I am trying to say is....unless you receive a call I am a sailor it's hard to really just expect that he/she is really graduating on the date he/she gave you. I know they say no news is good news but it also puts the family in a dark situation....
PIR Division Flagstag:navyformoms.ning.com,2017-04-12:1971797:Topic:101602322017-04-12T22:06:19.748ZB'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)https://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/Bsnukemom

I just attended PIR on April 7, 2017 and it was an amazing ceremony. My Sailors division designed their division flag with a submarine and eagle and it was really beautiful. They named the submarine the USS ZAYNE in honor of my Sailor's 13 year old brother Zayne that took his life about 10 days after our Sailor went to boot camp. I was such an honor that they named the sub after Zayne. He was able to leave boot camp and come to the funeral services and I know it was really hard for him…

I was such an honor that they named the sub after Zayne. He was able to leave boot camp and come to the funeral services and I know it was really hard for him dealing with the grief and boot camp at the same time but he said all the recruits in his division really helped him. I was told that sometimes they give the flags away but don't know the process or who to contact about the flag? Any information on this would be helpful. Thank you

By the way All the division flags were awesome!!
whee to find pir if you have div# n ship #tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2015-11-14:1971797:Topic:92582272015-11-14T15:47:57.985ZB'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)https://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/Bsnukemom

So this will be the first PIR i will have gone, in hopes my mother will let me go. What should i wear to it? I know it's a formal occasion, but how formal? Obviously not as formal as a dance, but should i wear a dress and heels?

Sorry if this has been asked. As soon as I get my SR's letter, I want to book our hotel. I'm looking at Navy Lodge. What do I need to know to book for that weekend? And will he need special permission to be there with us for Liberty? Thanks!
