Dear Lord
Please watch over the hungry. Summer is a hard time for so many children, as they are missing their school lunches with no group to take over this area. Please be with their families as they struggle day to day.

Watch over our military as we listen to discouraging news around the world. Protect them as they remain faithful to you.

Be with our prayer warriors and keep them strong in faith.

Amen

I thank You Father God for the safe return of Luke and his AF squadron from Afghanistan a few days ago. Please also, watch over all of our military with the threat from N. Korea. Also, Father we know You are well aware of the unrest in Iran and what can happen with this. Your loving comfort, guidance & strength to all. Amen

Diane--we pray for your happy phone call! Ours was an hour long after only receiving his short "I'm here" and one missed call on answering machine. God bless our military!

Beverly--It may be years since Eisenhower has been in office, but aren't the concerns the same. Thank you for finding and posting this.

Please be generic in your requests for prayers on certain military movements. OSPEC "Loose lips sink ships." Some of you may need to re-post your prayer requests.

Hi all,

I just thought I'd let you all know how our weekend went with our adopted sons and daughters.

(Saturday June 20, 2009)

We had a great evening with Savannah (Navy Wife), Brandon (NAS Oceana), Erene, and Trever (USS Gunston Hall). We ate hamburgers, chips, and cream cheese brownies and ice cream. We played RISK (haven't played that in a long time)! Then we closed with sharing prayer requests and taking turns praying for them. We all had FUN! Check out the new pictures on our profile page slide show.

(Sunday June 21, 2009)

Had a great Father's Day! Yvonne was up at 5:45 a.m. making cheesecake and homemade bread dinner today to be celebrated with Sarah (daughter) and Brian (son-in-law), Trevor (USS Gunston Hall), Branden (NAS Oceana) and Savannah (Navy Wife), and Erene (civilian). Sarah and Brian got me a tripod for my camera (that's why I'm in this group photo). We watched "Time Changers" while Yvonne finished fixing dinner. A good Christian movie! Interested in time travel? Dinner included a pork loin roast, peas, and rice, that were great! But then came the cheese cake for dessert! MMMmmmmm! Need I say more?

Patti Sue
We have a church member who had close to same diagnosis with their baby. Plus serious medical issue with Mom. I am happy to report that everything that could go RIGHT did go right. I spoke with the father this morning and he was beyond belief.
I pray for the continued direction of the medical team and the safety and health of the baby.

Fathers Are Wonderful People
by: Helen Steiner Rice

Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...
For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily
To live up to "his image"
As protector and provider
And "hero of the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be...

But he's so busy every day
In the gruelling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just wonderful
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolades of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...

And like Our Heavenly Father,
He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be always on our side.

Dearest God
Thank you for the example you have set for Fathers. We bless and praise all fathers and father figures. We also carry in our hearts those who have passed on and left us their legacy.
Amen

Praying Lord God for your loving protection over Luke & his squadron on their return from deployment on Sunday. Please guide & protect them and their plane from overseas. Please Lord, be with Ali & the girls to not worry about Luke's return. Also, please allow the paperwork and closing on their new house to all work out as You have planned it for them when Luke gets home. Thank you Father God for all Your loving care & blessing on us all. Also, please be with all those who are serving our country Lord. Be with Allen in Virginia also. Thank you again. I ask this in Your loving & precious name Lord. Amen
