skidiv714, my daughter may have had the same sponsor your son has.  My daughter graduated from boot camp one year ago and then went to San Antonio for MA training.  She said they had the hardest sponsor and had to do things other groups didn't.  But at the end she also said it was a great experience, they had a really close knit group and she loved it all.  She really respected her Sponsor at the end even if she didn't enjoy every thing on the journey.

snowmanmom, it is things like that that remind me that we are all part of the Navy family and family helps family.

Thank You lemonelephant for letting me know how to post them. I felt honored to be able to do it.

snowmanmom, that is great that you were able to attend and took pics of each of the Sailors.  I am sure that those who had a Sailor graduate will be thrilled to receive a pic.  I know that I was when another mom did that for me. (It is best to share pics by PM or you can post them on your Profile page for a week or so and be sure that you set the Privacy Settings to "Just My Friends" at least during the time the pics are up--only those who you friend will be able to see them.)

Oh what a week, I have my Sailor home from San Antonio for a while then he is on to his first duty.  We attended his graduation Friday march 29th. It was very small and personal.  Always so beautiful you feel like all the group is your baby.  I enjoyed meeting his new friends and seeing some from boot camp.  I tried to take many pictures of all the Sailors that graduated that day.  I am not sure what I am allowed to post and where.  I have alot of pictures of the men and women. I did let them know in advance that I was taking them and hoping to send then on to their famalies.  I was kinda disapointed that they did not have someone there taking their picture of them getting there papers.  After taking pictures of my son getting pin I tried to take pictures of everyone I could getting there pin.  I could not put a price on being at that graduation I know we are all on budgets but being there for my son and seeing the faces of the men and women getting pin a memory that has no price I am so happy we went.  SO if you have a Sailor that graduated Friday please let me know, I took a picture "of each Sailor" getting there certificate and some recieved special certificates.

My MA2 got bored on his base & made himself useful in the kennel. They saw potential in him & he got a nice push from the Kennel Master, his CO & Base Commander to get sent to handler school earlier than it's usually done. He now runs a bomb dog in the "sand".

Thank you lemonelephant for the information. It's very helpful.

SRMom, it is unusual for a Sailor to continue to "C" for for Dog Handler for MWD (Military Working Dog) right out of "A" School, but it has happened at times.  If that is something she really wants, she should volunteer in the kennels every chance she has.

Thanks everyone for the input.  I think she wants to go into a specialty field like K-9 or something.  I'm trying to learn as much as I can to help support her.  I appreciate the information.
