Hello Moms,

Got another ? that you my know about.

My husband is going to visit our son at A school at Shepard AFB this coming weekend. Lucky him.

Our son says he can go where ever he wants on base while he visits. Is this true? I would think there is somewhere off limits. Is it different than BC? That would be great. I wish I could see him.

We are visiting our son this weekend at Sheppard Airforce Base. He is in A school for a CE. He is phase II so he can leave the base but he has to be back on Friday and Saturday by 11:45 p.m., Sunday by 9:30 p.m. He is allowed to leave after 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. We can pretty much go any where on the base except for their barracks. It is great seeing him. This is the first time we have seen him since he left for bootcamp June 16th.
We visited our son at Naval Air Station, Sigonella last March. Both he and another sailor had to be with us at all times ( each could only sponsor 3 and there were 4 of us). We could only spend a certain number of hours unless we were staying on base. The Air Force may be different. I do know that you can't just wander around. You sponsor must be with you or both of you will get in trouble. Good Luck!
Tell him to give my son a squeeze for me :)
I had to get a visitors pass to be on base. But I was only on base with my son, he didn't show me much, we went to the store and where he signed out.
My son is to finish A school in a month, wish I could be there...

I'm going to visit my daughter this weekend at Shepard AFB myself!! Can't wait! She didn't give me any direction as to being on base, only that she had to come to the front gate so I can pick her up on Friday...she doesn't have to be back until Sunday night at 11:45. She graduates in a month so maybe this is why she can stay out the whole weekend. I'm not too worried about seeing the base...I'm sure she sees plenty of it and doesn't want to be there if she doesn't have to be!!
Debbie,
sounds like your daughter and my son will grad at the same time. Where does she go next? My son is off to combat training.
Hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!

I go on base with my daughter at Sheppard AFB, but we never stay long because she's ready to GO!! LOL. We can go most anywhere as long as she is with us except the barracks. I got confused the first time we went because there's multiple entrances. She now takes a cab and meets us outside the gate. (We meet her in the visitor parking area on Missile drive, then go check in at the Visitor Center)

I will be staying next week at the Sheppard Inn on base for A-school graduation. Has anyone from this group stayed there before?
