It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Peejay, "not a big writer" sounds like my SR, too. He has been at RTC since Dec 12, tomorrow marks 6 weeks in RCU and he is a Nuke also. The last call we received was 2 weeks ago and it has been at least 3 weeks since a letter.
Best of luck for your SR as he does Battle Stations tomorrow and for those SR's doing it today.
My SR has been at RTC since Dec 4th and in RCU 5 weeks. Not a big writer, we haven't received much information from him and that is why the calls are so anticipated because he is quite the talker. Now I am hoping his new orders come through quickly and he is on the plane to Charleston on Saturday and the next adventure begins. Good luck to all the other recruits - I pray for a fast recovery - and for those doing Battle Stations, a safe while memorable experience. Many thanks for all the comments on this site. It was certainly a comfort reading what to expect and hearing that there was an end in sight.
Peejay, glad to hear he's almost there too and you will see him THIS week!!! I am sorry he's not able to do BS on Monday with my son and Barbys, but so glad for Tuesday too! Yay!
Peejay.... YAY sooo happy you made it in time to answer the call.. oh boo he won't be with the others monday BUT TUESDAY is good too... how long has your son been at RTC???
Made it home just in time tonight to answer a call from our SR - he will be doing Battle Stations on Tuesday instead of Monday - and is a bit bummed that he won't be with everyone else on Monday but is just happy to be able to finally see an end to being a recruit. We made plans to see him on Friday since he is not sure he could get liberty both Thursday and Friday. I can't wait. It has been to long.
EXCELLENT... hahahha when Andrew went into his new division. all of the SR's were looking at his boots and saying HOW did get them sooooo shiny?? LOTS of time in RCU!! SOOOO happy for your call!!
BEYOND excited, as I'm sure you're feeling too Barby! Next week will FINALLY be our week!!! Yay!!! Btw, Patrick got this phone call cause he did such a good job shining his shoes!!! = )
OMG BRAVO ZULU to Patricks Mom... oh my god im soooo excited for you....
and soooooo glad he was able to tell you about navy2011's SR to pass info to her...YAY!!!!!!! BS21 HERE YOU COME.....!!!
Just got a call from Patrick! He is now FFD as of today, and WILL be running Battlestations on Monday! Hopefully he'll be calling sometime Tuesday afternoon to let me know I have a Sailor, and then I'll be with him, hugging him on Wednesday!!! I can't begin to tell you what hearing him tell me he's FFD felt like. It's prayer upon prayer answered. Thank you God! You ALL will get there, and it will be sooooooo well worth the wait. Prayers being lifted for each SR in RCU and their faithful and loving Moms.
Navy2011Mom - your son was right in front of mine when he called. Patrick asked him how he was, and said "my mom will tell your mom"! He said to tell you he's doing alright - going a little stir crazy, but okay. = ) Your day is coming, and I look forward to sharing in your joy!!!
tsghart... He will be at home with you able to assist in his ultimate recovery. While the separation may seem tough, he's made a difficult decision (I'm sure), and a very adult one with the goal of re-enlisting. Please let us know how he's doing (even though he will be recovering at home.) Continuing to pray for both of you, and all our SRs...
