Well, I just heard from my son and he said they're holding him on Ship 05 until they can figure out what's wrong with him. He was supposed to enroll in A school yesterday, but they won't let him in until the rest of his blood work comes in. I'm not liking the sound of things right now.

For those who sent a Christmas card to my son's bunkmate, here's a photo of him. He's the young man on the left. He was such a sweetheart and really appreciated the cards.

Here's the photo my cousin took at the meet 'n greet. If I haven't said it already, it was so nice meeting all of you.

Mossgirl- thanks for being so patient with our "cutie patootie", Delainey. That many hours of sitting and waiting is hard for a 4 year old. Not to mention the rest of us. My backside is still tired from those bleachers, lol.

@Pink - well at least we got to wave!!  :)

I also got to sit in front of ZachsinNavymom at the graduation. Figured it out when they called the state of NC and we both cheered! LOL! What a nice family and a cutie-patootie little girl in her navy dress, dancing away to the music!

I was so tempted once to stand in the lobby of the Navy Lodge and do a shout out for N4M just to see who was there! Well, thanks again and congratulations to all of our fine young sailors!

We made it back to NC, but boy were we tired. I am back at work today, but still exhausted from the weekend. So nice to meet those at the meet and greet on Friday. We so enjoyed our weekend with our son and even got to visit with some cousins in Kenosha. Pink- I hope you got some good news for your son. My husband has been telling everyone about this site and the meet and greet. I was like- what did you think I had been doing for the last 8 weeks on the computer,lol? Men can be oblivious. Glad everyone made it home safely. Keep in touch!

@Mossgirl - I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to officially meet, but I do want to thank you for the support and concern regarding my son. I thought I would get a chance to give you a hug, but when they called Liberty, I think we all only had one thing on our minds...LOL!

Hello! I've been out of the loop for a while but wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate all the camraderie and fellowship we get on this site. It truly helped me through the darkest of times (Thanksgiving and Christmas!) - you have no idea (well, I guess you do!).

So sorry I didn't make it to the meet n greet. We also stayed at the Navy Lodge and I bet I saw some of you and didn't know it!

What a wonderful weekend! I'm so exhausted, but still on cloud 9!!!

@debbiel

The person that checked out in front of me was petite and blond.  If it was you I'm sorry that I didn't get to at least say hi.  I'm glad that your family made it back safe and sound.  I think that we'll all be tired for the next few days.  I feel like I was on fast forward for the past 5 days so I'll be ready to relax by this weekend.  Congrats to your sailor and best wishes for your family.

@barb

I hope yall are home safe and sound by now.  You have two great sons and it was very obvious that yall are very close as a family.  I hope that you and Ian don't have a tough time readjusting to the daily routine without Marty.  I'm hoping that he gets stationed down near you guys soon so that you can at least see him more often. I don't know if I've ever seen two brothers so close to each other and that was nice to see.  You've raised two very nice sons, even though one jumped into a taxi alone and scared you to death without meaning to.:)  Have a good week getting back to the grindstone.  I know I'm looking forward to it. :(

Take care.
