I got a letter from my SR dated 11/11, about classification day, and the fact he is still a hospital corpsman.  I guess he didn't read the paper he signed when he joined that said, "Guarnteed rate - Hopsital Corpsman".   Classification day, at least my understanding of it, is the day the SR find out exactly what rate/job they will be doing and where their A schools are.  They don't necessarily know when they will be leaving for A school, just where they will be going.

I'm thinking 6-6 is this coming Saturday or if they consider Sunday as 1 then this Friday, that makes more sense. The end of this coming week though.

Good to have that info Colleen---every little tidbit is helpful.  I have more second hand info--that the "characters" who had been causing the DIV some problems have recognized the gravity of their situation and are doing much better.  He describes SR's who have never written a letter in their life struggling to do it. Says one leader has not passed the swim test yet and that they are very poor in the marching department.  Apparently said the uniforms were very slick but would be extra things to care for in the "navy fashion". Does any one know what day 6-6 would be?

I printed off the navy website the 8 week schedule. It stated this past week was "he'll week" last week was weapons week, I like kind of knowing what they should be doing each week, it makes me feel a little beter lol. I received 3 letters this week, she said they can now mail on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She also stated they would find out on 6-6 about A school, the 6th day of the 6th week. Just thought I'd mention a lil information I hadn't seen posted. In 3 weeks we will be enjoying them :)

Had second hand word of a letter describing uniform measurements all being complete.  My guess is the letter was written around Jan 8-9.  It is good they have completed so much now.  I am wondering if there is a specific time---perhaps after test results are reviewed that the Sr's are given counsel or info about possible job opportunity. Perhaps it comes after Battle Stations.  I am hoping some one will get a call soon and be able to report on the general well being of the division.

Still NO letter:~( hoping its because of the mail delivery delay due to all the ice and snow. Patience is not one of my strong points! LOL. Did get our reservations made at the Mariott Suites. Feels good to get that done. Still counting down the days..... 21 more. YAY!! Cant wait to get my arms around my baby girl!!!

My SR wrote 1/7 that the next wks schedule is:

Monday-Personal inspection. weapons turnover inspection, & PFA #2

Tuesday-zone inspection & marksmanship class

Wednesday-live fire

Thursday-drill inspection

Friday-test #2

I asked for more details so this is what she wrote...lol

We had a letter written the 6th of January also indicating that this week was really going to be a busy one with written and physical tests.  My SR seemed even and strong--I know he is anxious to do his best.  I wonder if they could conceivably have battlestations this week.  I know we will know right away if anyone gets a call!!  I think they must have very little free time or he would be writing more.  Very exciting to be so far along!

Thanks, I am thinking as positively as possible. I live in the area of lots of plane cancellations and going to o'hare is pretty tough. We are leaving 2 days early just in case. My SRs parents just got back from puerto rico and their plance cancelled 4 times and delayed a bunch just to get here. So we are leaving early Wednesday so we have 2 full days just in case. I'm excited. My SR is super excited and sounds soo much more happier. His last 2 letters did not mention any bad behavior so its safe to assume all is well. He had 2 of his shipmates write me a note saying happy birthday to me, that was great :) all in all , we have a very exciting trip coming up guys!

Mail today...YAY!  She sounds like she is starting to enjoy boot camp.  Brags about beating div 059 at the Marlinspike Lab. Says the division is finally working together more and that this week will be very busy for them. Also said she saw the last PIR group walking around in their dress blues and she is really "pumped" now to get thru this and to PIR.  I love how positive she is in her letters now.  She did send me a name of a close shipmate that has received no mail and asked me to send her some....of course I will be picking up a few cards to send to her also.  Hope to hear more from others....
