Bookwurm: What a blessing to have Josh near by!!! I'm sure three hours seems like nothing compared to him being in Great Lakes!

Lydia: I have to laugh because your Texan roots were evident. LOL You did a GREAT job organizing this N4M group, and you were very effective in gathering us N4Ms while at Great Lakes. Your proactive Texan personality is much appreciated! We DID keep running into each other. . .it was awesome!

I heard from Josh a little bit ago that they had arrived in CT, was waiting for the bus to go to Groton. He couldn't talk long but it was good for me to know he made it there safely!

Lydia, I am so excited that he will be that close to me! I will be looking forward to when he earns more liberties so that we can go down and see him on the weekend. :)

Just found this forum that does an excellent job describing the rules, expectations, and phases of A-School.

Good morning friends! Wow! What a wonderful weekend we had!!! The graduation was spectacular. . .I was so proud of our boys!!! What a neat ceremony! Spending time with Cody was so. . .refreshing, healing, and needed. By Cody's request, we spent a lot of the time in our hotel room, stacked up on the beds, eating snacks and watching movies. It was SO NICE to listen to Cody talk about all of his adventures and to spend that quality time with him! Just two more weeks and we will be able to spend more quality time with our boys. . .two weeks is quite "do-able"!

It was a WONDERFUL pleasure meeting Lydia, Linda, Dodie, and seeing Ariel again!!! And I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Luke (twice!) and hugging Dallas. :) Wish I could have met all of you and your boys, but we were all pretty focused all weekend. :)

Let's do keep this group going if anything to stay in touch until our boys get settled into A-School. Cody should ride the bus across the street from bootcamp today to begin corpsman training. It will be a big day for him!!!

Merlin, my son, Josh, is leaving today for sub school in Groton, CT as well. As we live in Maine, it's only about a 3 hr car ride for us, so I am looking forward to making the trek down there to get him at Christmas time.

Wow, what an emotional weekend. Graduation was absolutely awesome. Brandon was a greeter and handing out the programs at the front doors when we walked in, that was a great surprise. And Hall of Fame, how cool was that!!! Sunday night was hard, saying good-bye, but Brandon seems so happy and ready to move on to A school. We had a couple of his buddies with as all day Sunday and I heard them talking to each other about how hard it was going to be Tuesday when they all had to say good-bye and go in differant directions. It truly warmed my heart to see how close these boys have become in 9 weeks! God Bless all of them as they travel on!!! God please keep each and every one of them safe!

Dodie, I left the same way having to drop Josh off to head back to the airport. And i was particularly bummed because after we got there, I was told our flight was delayed for 2 hours! All I could think was that I could have spent a little more time with Josh! It was so hard to say good bye (again!) but at least I know this time it'll only be a few more weeks then I can see him again at Christmas.

Lydia, so sorry we weren't able to meet while out there! I got your message too late... I do hope you had a great weekend - it sure was a lot to pack into 3 days! So emotional!
