My son in law was sent to ship 5 a week before graduation because he couldn't pass prone float and "looked depressed". My daughter is receiving calls and occasionally stuff on Insta and even texts but his phone is here. He says he has signed papers but the chief needs to sign off. He says he has no date to come home yet knew his next duty station assignment. He said he could be there weeks or even months. My oldest son is currently serving in the Navy and husband is retired Army. We are just so confused over how this works. I guess what I want to know is--is this the norm? Thanks
I am so sorry.....doubtful he will be there months but it can take a few weeks to process out....hopefully it will be sooner than that. I hope that he will be able to re-enlist at a later date.....Since you have a son currently serving and your husband is retired Army, you know the ways of the military. And sometimes it can be exasperating.....hoping you have gotten updated info from your son in law since you posted this and have some more info. I didn't look at the main Ship 5 page, but did you post your concerns there too? Some don't look in the discussions so they probably missed this. I would post it on the main page too. Prayers for your son in law....I'm so very sorry....and hope that he is home soon.
Has your son in law made it or of Seps already? I only ask because my son just got played in there. And I'm going crazy wondering how long he will be in there for.
