TAMP (Transitional Assistance Management Program) is a program that offers TriCare standard benefits to separated service members (and their dependents) for 180 days after separation. The coverage begins the day following separation, and you can then go to CHCBP (Continued Health Care Benefit Program- similar to COBRA at $933/quarter for service member, $1900 for family), The separated service member has to call and activate the TAMP benefits. That's it- just a phone call. The service member had to have served for than 30 days and the cause for separation has to be no fault of their own (like a medical condition). DEFINITELY worth looking into! Here's the info:
Here's the link for info about the CHCBP, as well:

I also added a page to the right - under the member profiles - that gives information regarding separation from the RTC website.

If you are just joining the Ship 5 group be sure to read through the IMPORTANT NUMBERS AND INFO FOR SHIP 5 at the top of the page.  Also note there is a link to the Facebook Ship 5 group which is a little more active (it's near the bottom of the important info).

Chihuahualove3 - when your daughter gets home have her reach out to her recruiter - s/he should be able to help with the information on waivers.  It will take some time so remind her to be patient!  (And she needs to heal first.)  Also be sure to join the FB group - link is up above.  They should be able to give you more guidance on re-enlisting.  Good luck to her - she can do this!

My daughter injured both feet metatarsal fractures and therefore she could not pass the final run. They decided today to separate with an administration code. My question is where can I read up on the steps to getting waivers for her to go back in 6 months?

 Thank You

You no your recruiter was wrong, when the day you get home he calls and offers to start your legal paperwork for you! Just saying.

AlwaysBeeKind - glad to hear you are getting your son home today.  I wish him the best in wherever his journey takes him.  And please thank him for enlisting - not many people will take that step but he did and he should be proud of himself for that.  Good luck to him and hugs to both of you!

Hi Ladies, I am so very sorry for you and your SRs. It is heartbreaking and we moms feel it to our souls.  Hang in there. My son was medically separated a month ago, we will finally have him home tomorrow! I don't quite understand the whole process, legal has still never returned our several calls.  The good thing is that they do call a couple of times a week. Sending prayers that your kids are ok. I am so proud of all of them and hope they stay strong! Hugs to all!
