Sarah, I think the Key West is a fast attack which means he will be able to get mail. Fast Attack subs make port calls so they do get snail mail and they really look forward to mail call. Not so much from Moms but definitely from fiances. Something a little suggestive, I think you get the idea. He might even get the chance to send you a card, but most squids don't write much. He can send you e-mails on rare occasions and can even call when they get to port. Send him e-mails regularly. Not only do they love to hear from you but it helps you to write to him. You'll feel better.

Sarah, What kind of ship is the Key West. It sounds like a sub. Knowing what kind of ship he's on kind of changes the advice we can give you. We're here for you.

Jill, I'm glad to hear that you are getting to talk to your son. Alex called home last weekend. We got to talk to him for about 20 minutes. It was a really bad connection but I didn't care. I hadn't spoken to him since he left on March 1st. I'm hoping to get to talk to him at least once more before they return in the Fall.

Actually, my son is on a submarine somewhere in the north atlantic. Or should I say somewhere under the north atlantic.

I finally got an e-mail from my son Alex. He got his "Fish", YAY. He is also growing a beard but apparently looks like Shaggy? But he likes it. He also got to see some of Norway. They are now at sea again and he is of course bored. Being bored is very good if you are an ET. We hope to hear from him when they get to their next port, where ever that is whenever they get there.

Becky, I would love to send a birthday card to your son. My Alex will be out for his birthday on July 13th. Being on a sub he wouldn't get mail on his birthday. Invite me to be on your friends list and then you can send me his address.
