For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

@lhgirl-I'm in the Hill Country I live in Fredericksburg.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away either. My Sailor is coming home for Thanksgiving. Haven't seen him since PIR, his dad saw him over Labor Day, but that was a Boy's weekend....
My Son is On the USS Kidd he is on tour and wont be home until February. His Wife and two kids are in Bartlett Texas with her sister. I live in Taylor Texas. My son is a proud father of a one year daughter and a son who was just born 10/28/2011.
Toni CONGRATS on your sailors return!!! I knpw how exciting that is. My son came home in July from a 7 month deployment which was also his first. He will redeploy after the first of the year again. Not Looking Forward to it from a moms point thats for sure. He is a littel excited because it will be his ships FINAL tour. They are retiting the USS Enterpeise when they return. He's looking forward to his next command. LOL

Good Morning everyone, sounds like a lot of us got some much needed rain, glad everyone is safe.
@ lynn joe and geoffs mom: My son just got to Groton for sub school he has already done his A school any words of advise for us??? Its been hard finding info on the sub stuff :-) Thanks in advance.
Well thank goodness all the tornadoes moved to the East...all we saw was some really good rain and dark clouds. Storms like that make me miss the Panhandle and the good thunderstorms that rattle the windows...makes me sleepy...lol.
Kathy-me too...by the way, I lived in the Texas City/La Marque area for many years, and moved to East Texas in 2003. My best friend who lives in West Texas City and I still go to all the La Marque Cougars playoff games, so hopefully I will be making trips down there every weekend until the championship game in December starting next weekend. I'm gonna miss the first playoff game this week in 25 years...darn work!
