Do you have a Sailor on the USS Barry?

My son just met up with the Barry a couple of days ago. I haven't seen anyone else say whether or not their Sailor was on the Barry, so upon the advise a good N4M friend, I decided to start a group! Hope there's more Mom's out there that their Sailors call the Barry 'home'.

Hope all of you got to hear from your sailor yesterday.

What is your son's rate? I wonder if the guys know each other..it's not that big of a crew.

I enjoy chatting with you, too!

Yes, I am SO glad the dog isn't in heat that often!! It will be Rosie's one and only!!

I think that the whole crew have been trained in firefighting. During WWII, the Navy got wise and decided it would be good if the whole gang knew what to do in an emergency, instead of only DC guys. Lost too many crew members when there were fires. My sailor is a GSM. He really loved being in Scotland and was hoping one of his buddies and he could see a little more some time.

I laughed when you said you thought they could share more, cause that is what I was telling my hubby the other night. Sometimes I know more from here! And I am SO glad your hubby can dig stuff up!!! It really truly made my day to look at those pictures. Have you been on the Barry website? There are some new pics on the family area that went up last Friday.

Aw, Marcia. Now I want to give you a BIG thank you and a BIG ((((((((((HUG)))))))))!!!!! I just went to the links and it did my heart good. We get so little news of what they are doing, and that helped a LOT. I feel so disconnected from my sailor sometimes. That made me feel a little bit closer. So thankyou thankyou.

Hi, Marcia. So glad the dog is working out! Things have calmed here, too. No more pooch in heat!!
Are you ladies hearing from your sailors? HOpe y'all are surviving!
Thanx for the links, Marcia.

Oh, Marcia! I am cracking up! We adopted a stray Lab and, guess what? She is in heat! My DH had this great idea to not have her spayed and how great it would be to have puppies. Now he's complaining about the mess.Grrrr. At least we don't have a daddywannabe in the house, too LOL. I can totally relate to the insanity. My mom thinks I thrive on the stimulation ;-). I think she may be right. I have to keep busy.

Yeah, I figured the same thing about the whole Navy deal just being better now that they are doing something. But CJ answers my e-mails, and some of his have even been more than a sentence!

How's everyone doing? How are you keeping in touch? CJ and I are doing Navy e-mail. It has made me a faithful checker of electronic mail! That's new for me! Marcia, hope all's still well with the pets.
Ladies, hope all your sailors are enjoying being underway and much busier. Happy Spring!

Happy Spring! Hard to believe here-we are celebrating with 7" of snow. You'd think we live at the North Pole!
Marcia, glad it's going better with the dog. It our cats awhile when we adopted our little stray lab, but now they let her give them baths, including the cat that will be 17 this summer! At least Rosie just lays under my chair when I am on the pc! Sorry your son's won't do that for you. Teri, happy day to Boo from me, too. Glad they gave him a party. At least he won't have a hangover LOL. Did you have an OK day? Days like that we really miss them, don't we? I hope my other five don't think I wouldn't be as sappy about them, too. These kids just have so much of our hearts.
Are you guys using Skype? I am finding out that CJ can write actual e-mail. Thank God for all our technology.

Marcia, how is the dog fitting in? Hope all is well with you ladies. I'm doing okay. Amazing how often I can check my pokey e-mail in a day when I think I might have a message from my sailor.
