For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

My husband will be joining the Bataan around November and I'll be moving to Virginia with my two young children, and our dog a few months after that. For those of you that live in Va, What do you love about Virginia? I'm talking great shops, cute neighborhoods, fantastic restaurants. Please, give me something to look forward to other than the fact that I may have a big comfy bed to myself for a while : )

It has taken my husband as little as 2 weeks to get packages and other times it's has taken a month to 2 months to get them.

Guess I should just put a bag over my head until our Sailor comes home to the mid-west and removes it! This is so frustrating! I might as well give up!

I am so tired of looking at the photo from basic with the awful scowl, to remember.. Maybe someone could friend me so I can get some info.... I am so in the dark... I would really appreciate it...
