USS Milius Friends & Family

Information

USS Milius Friends & Family

The USS Milius DDG 69 Group is for Friends & Family of the members of this ship. Alii Prae Me

Members: 19
Latest Activity: Jun 3, 2020

"Alii Prae Me" or "Others Before Myself"

I am new to the role of Navy Wife and know that there are others out there in the same boat. I was hoping we could band together and with the help of some of the experienced spouses swap tips and learn from others on the ways of being a supporting family unit for our significant other.

I want to be able to lay my husband's mind at rest and I know others out there want to show their significant other we are all not Westpac Widows, a term I heard a Chief use, who are just waiting to pen our first Dear John letter.

I would like for us to be able to lean on each other and ask questions and build friendships.

Irene - I am glad you got to spend some time with Paul. My husband is from Virginia but the Western portion.

Barbara - Alec has only been on the Milius. I showed him your son's pic. He said he hopes Josh has a good sense of humor because the guys in the shop are some jokesters. The guys all have nicknames and funny little inside jokes. I was just down having dinner with a group of them the other night. Alec is looking forward to meeting Josh.

My husband has been in for just under 2 years and is a fireman on the ship. He is called a DCFN hopefully a DC3 when he returns. Josh will be working with my hubby. :)

Hey. I am not supposed to give dates but if he gets out of school in mid May you may still be able to say goodbye and watch him pull out from San Diego. Right now POM period is going on. Sorry I haven't been around. We are getting ready for a family going away party here in San Diego tomorrow and then headed to Virginia to say goodbye to his family. If you have questions about the ship or people email. :)

I wanted to start a group so that people whose friends and family are on the USS Milius have a place to chat and meet others. There is a deployment coming up and I was hoping this may ease nerves and help us all communicate.
