Happy New Year Pasadena Moms! I had a wonderful time battling the flu but better now. We heard from Jeff two times Christmas weekend. He has a very good friend on the George Washington and they spent Christmas day together. That made me feel a little better. Anxiously awaiting an email!

Peggy, So sorry about Myles "Nook".

Kind of strange about this "Ombudsman" thing, don't you all think?

Best to all, Pat

Just got an email from Myles.  sounds like life is pretty rough for him as he tries to qualify.  He said that not having alot of sleep makes him  clumsy.  He has lost an expensive flashlight and a tool, but the main tragedy is he fell asleep while reading his nook ( on the top bunk) and it fell and the screen cracked. That was his only enjoyment.  Hopefully there are some good old fashioned books he can utilize....

I got my Christmas wake up call from Myles this morning @ 7:00!  He sounded wonderful. Telling us a bit about their experience ordering Christmas dinner at a local restaurant.  Right out of "The Christmas Story"!! It was great timing on his part because both his sisters were still here and we could share our voices. Just so special...hope you all were able to hear from your sailors!

Ellen when you go see lee in hawaii check out the Hale Koa Hotel it is only for military and their families. Beautiful hotel the room rates will be based on lee's rank.  if you stay there he will have to book your room and check you in because they need his military id.  It is walking distance to alot of stores and eateries and only like 100 yards from the beach. you can go to their web site www.halekoa.com.

Good morning Ellen, I have sent a message to the ombudsman and was told that Jeff had to fill out the Ombudsman Information form before we could be added to receive emails from her. Jeff says he filled it out so we'll see, I guess! Thanks anyway. Pat

just got back from Hawaii.  I got to see my son before they all left.  Beautiful place to visit. Even tho i got to see my son before they left i still feel the same way you all do. they did'nt leave until i got back home.   I got to meet another friend of my son and let him know about our group so hecould let his mom know about the group. I want to wish everyone a happyn holiday

So Ellen when are you planning for the Hawaiian holiday??  Myles was very closed lip appropriately but I was just wondering... What is the deal with the Ombudsman?  With Myles getting there so late in the process, we have never received any communication from anyone in the Navy other than Myles. Merry Christmas to all! (well, as nice as it can be without our sailors...)

Hi Ellen, I feel the same way! Would you please do me a favor? If you hear from the Ombudsman, would you let me know? Jeff SWEARS he filled out the form. I thought when someone gets a message from them, I would send an email and ask them to doublecheck. Thanks, Ellen  Happy Holidays!!
