Loving a Sailor isn't much fun
but its worth the price when the battle is won.
And remember he's thinking of you every day,
he's sad and he's lonely while so far away.
So love him and miss him and hold your head high,
Be strong and have faith, wipe that tear from your eye.
Your man's a seafarer, like that old ancient trader,
It's a high price you pay for loving a Sailor!

That is soooo awesome that you guys have found each other. Small world!!

Tina--I have a HUGE favor to ask you, my son has been trying to see the doc on board and he refuses to call him back or help him. He thinks he has a hernia and needs to get it checked out, he's in alot of pain some days. If you could please let your husband know this, my son and I would be grateful! Thank you

Tina - My son called me last night and told me all about your husband and you. He is very happy to have met you guys and he spoke very highly of you both. He said your husband knows a lot and has been a great help. This is the first time that he has been happy since he DOR'd from SWCC in September. Thank you for the compliment and taking "care" of my son.

Hi Tina - My son was just reassigned as a hospital corpsman on the Rentz, he doesn't have a rate but they are having him help out in that area. The Chaplain suggested that he be put in a non-combatant job and that's what the command decided to do with him. He's really excited about it. I know we don't use real names on here but they call my son The Rev. Congratulations on your upcoming 1yr. anniversary. I really hope you two can get together soon.

Happy Easter everyone!!!!

First of all a BIG WELCOME to the group Tina--is your son on the ship and what is his job? How long has he been there? Nice of you to join us!!

Babrams--we shipped 19 boxes on Monday to them stuffed full of all kinds of things.  We even through a few boxes of travel size items for the trip, just in case! Plus the 65lb c-bag that my son took back. They are all gonna have to go to the dentist, I'm afraid. LOL  Here's a couple of pictures I took just to show everyone how much we sent. I hope they will enjoy all of it for many months. The next big thing we want to do is send them a bunch of cheese from Wisconsin :) Nice to hear that you got to enjoy your son as well. I pray for their safe deployment and that the winds will bring them back home to us. Let's keep each other posted of any news we might hear, deal? Have a good day everyone!!!

Hi Rhonda - Thanks for organizing this. My son was home this past week and I was going to send some Cliff bars back with him but I forgot to pack them. I'm planning on shipping them tomorrow. In case anyone doesn't know what Cliff bars are they are like trail mix and granola bars all in one bar. My son loved getting them when he was in SWCC training.

Just wanted to let all of you know that we have recieved alot of donations for the Rentz, it is awesome to see how many people are so willing to help. My son was home on leave these past two weeks and as a favor took a C-bag full back with him. We will be shipping more treats this weekend! My sister and I made 190 different cards (that took along time but well worth it) and then stamped a nice saying in all of them, so every sailor will get one with a bag full of goodies. My son signed up to be MWR for the ship, he will make sure everyone gets a treat of some kind. He will also be showing some movies and sharing all the microwave popcorn that was given to us. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated in this endeavor. You put a smile on our sailor's faces :)
