For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yes, Sharon. I feel sure that our sons were flown out together. There was a group of 19 there (I think). Spent the night in Atlanta because of missed connection. He told me that there was some phenomenal moms at the airport helping with the mixed up flights, and that he thanked one of them. Mentioned that dads were there, but not doing much. HA! Kudos to the MOMS! That would be great if you had any piks. He would probably be the shortest one there at 5'5" tall, blue eyes, BIG MOUTH! HA!

Sharon: What a small world...you had competitive swimmers too! That's great!
Anyone else? I mean...we are trying to see who else can train to be a rescue swimmer because that has to be such an awesome job in the Navy! :-)

Jason's Proud Mom: Now, I'm reading your post thinking...how much fun for your boys that they were on an all-girls team! I mean, I know they "started" a boys team...but did they practice with the girls? I say, your boys were the smart ones! Seeing girls in bathing suits everyday is a nice trade off for guys who just had to workout pretty hard in the pool! The boys who didn't join the team were the crazy ones! HA! So great that they enjoyed it so much. Ok, I'm waiting for you to share the story when your son makes his first rescue! I think that will be so phenomenal!

Jason's Proud Mom: That is so great! Swimming is such a great sport, and for a lifetime! My claim to fame is that I was in the 1968 (now I'm dating myself!) Olympic trials in LA. I was seeded 3rd with my best time, but needed to move to 2nd to make the team. I suffered a reaction to iron supplements I had been taking and ended up at the hospital with horrible stomach cramps! I did swim my event (800 free), but didn't do well and placed 16th. I was only 14 and freaked out of my mind anyway. By the time the next Olympics rolled around, I had graduated high school and finished my 1st yr of college...had given up swimming before college to have a LIFE! When training for the Olympic trials, I was practicing 5 hours a day! Ridiculous!

Lady Hamilton: Wow! I guess I'm not surprised, but how scary. A very honorable position for these rescue swimmers! Good for them! Thanks for sharing this, and for all of the other news you have shared. Very informative! You seem to have quite a great daughter...but then, you already knew that! :-)

Thanks Jason's Proud Mom. I will pass that along to him. I appreciate it. Not even sure he would even want to mention his swimming (he did not compete as long as your son, but in the swimming part of bc, someone asked him if he thought he was Michael Phelps or something because he swam so fast!). My sister, brother and I were competitive swimmers for over 10 years MANY YEARS AGO, so I have a special place for good swimmers in my heart! :-)Thanks for the info! I hope your son is "called upon" to use his skills sometime in some way....and is the hero! But I hope someone doesn't fall off of the ship!

Jason's Mom: Can you explain more to us moms with YN still in school....they can volunteer to be trained as S&R so they can act in that capacity if needed when on a ship? My son was a competitive swimmer for a while, and I'm wondering if this is something he would want to look into? We South Floridians swim like fish! :-)

Sharon, my son said alot of the ones he knows would love Japan. I have read in my research that YN's can go most anywhere the Navy goes...land and sea. So we shall see!

My son is a yeoman-in-training with Sharon's son. I joined this at Sharon's suggestion to learn more about yeomen! Our sons are in the 1st two weeks of their school in Meridian. Hi, everyone!
